Draft Coming On October 1st

It doesn't take a psychic to predict this, but the draft will be re-instituted on October 1st. It will be expansive and include both men and women ages 18 to 30 (yes, 30... older than drafts in the past).

The reason for going up to the age of 30: Congress will want to send more SINGLE people without children to Iraq first.

Therefore, a single man age 28 with no kids will be drafted before an 18 year old "teen-father".

Our country will be torn and devistated by the draft, but the propaganda machine will make a good case for it, particularly after the major terrorist event in August.

Oddly enough, AL SHARPTON will be a major opponent to the draft and gain support from ALL ETHNIC GROUPS in his high-profile efforts to stop it. His future political career will benefit greatly from it. He will no longer be seen as a radical "black" politican... In fact, he will calm down and be equally supported by white, jewish and latino populations... Most notably, he will be Hillary Clinton's top pick as a running mate in 2012, but turn it down for personal reasons. Wild hu?

And who would have thought Gulliani's legacy after his 8 year NYC Dictatorship would be "HERO", right?

BOTTOM LINE: IF YOU ARE A YOUNG MALE AND HAVE A FEMALE FRIEND, KNOCK HER UP NOW.

(women will NOT be drafted until Summer 2005 or forced to serve in combat positions).

I find it hard to believe that the Bush administration would propose to intact such a bill or law one month before the Presidential elections, not that I�m say they wouldn�t do it, it just seam they would be shooting them selves in the other foot, unless there will be no elections, uhm my conspiratorial mind at work again LOL

Not gonna happen on that date. Try predicting another date. I have yet to see a correct prediction on this site. Who knows...you may be the first.

Interesting comment. Why do you feel that October 1st is so off or do you think a draft is not likely?

There won't be a draft before the election because it would cost Bush the election and be promptly rescinded.

There won't be a draft to meet the demands of Iraq because once the Iraqi government takes power we are likely to be expelled or asked to reduce our strength before the end of the summer.

Even if another war pops up, it would have to be a clear cut enemy aggression. Somebody would have to invade a US ally and be clearly in the wrong. Even if Iran were to successfully subvert the Afghan government and the Taliban were restored, I don't think a declaration of war against Iran could be counted on if Bush asked for it. The American people would never tolerate a draft for another insignificant cause.
Would you let them drag yourself, your siblings, or your children off to fight when it wasn't necessary? It wouldn't be the same as it is when they deploy our volunteers, would it? A conscript military drastically changes the conditions in which war is acceptable, because a volunteer military is akin to a mercinary one. (having been a Marine, I consider it my right to say this, and I am informed in doing so).
I may be in the minority for my radicalism in this next regard, but I'm serious when I say that I would shoot anyone who came to take my little brother to war against his will, and then I'd go set fire to the building that person came from, and if they didn't catch me I'd go encourage a dozen other people to do the same then.

I'm as much of a warmonger as any American. I grew up on Davie Crocket and John Wayne and I think that bombing the hell out of people CAN solve problems sometimes. I volunteered to help do it, because it sounded exciting! When people like me are hesitant to go to war again, it just -might- behove Dubya to ask around and see if -ANYONE- supports the idea at all. (Donald Rumsfeld doesn't count, and while we're talking about Rummy, has anybody noticed that he honestly looks and sounds more like Bush 41's son than the president does!? I think Rumsfeld may have been cloned from Bush 41 by the CIA to prosecute their war on communism after they faded from power.)

I can understand how you feel. I respect you for it.

Again, I do not always agree with my visions/predictions and most of the time, they don't make any logical sense (I too thought to myself, no way before the elections!) But nonetheless, this timeframe is what I feel.

Vagabond- Maybe this is what will bring martial law to our country, and keep bush from even having to face re-election. See, problem is that I cant say I blame you for feeling that way.

If the American public is scared enough, and things are so unstable, then, I can see how quite easily in conjunction with a draft, the Republicans will have the people in such a grip that many will vote Republican out of fear that Kerry coming in will make the nation more unsafe.
of, maybe Kerry will be killed... anything is possible.

The draft is just what people like Rumsfeld and Cheny would love.

Yes, I definitely lean left, but I wouldn't consider myself part of the Michael Moore Conspiracy of Leftist Radicals or anything. Plus, if I wanted to plant leftist seeds in the minds of paranoid Americans, I wouldn't bother making predictions on this little ole site... I would just put the messages in my TV shows/ movies and broadcast them to millions.

I hope I'm wrong about the draft too, my friend.
