UFO at my wedding?

Ok.. so I have been I guess what you would call a lurker at ATS for well over a year now. I never really had much to contribute and always enjoyed the fresh viewpoints offered by most posters on this site. Tonight actually about a year to the day after my wedding my wife and some family and friends sat down to review our wedding pictures for nostalgia purposes. What I found made me come directly to this site and register so that I can share.

Basically towards the latter end of the pictures taken that day there is a peculiar anomoly. Our photagrapher was taking high resolution pictures outside of the reception hall. The shutter speed was set a very fast pace to take action shots. The effect was so that it almost looked like stop motion. I am going to attempt to upload two pictures I found tonight. The first shows an odd light hovering just above the building. The next picture taken only a microsecond later shows the same light what may be a hundred miles higher in the sky.

Now this may be a trick of a reflection or something, but I thought I would share it and see what others thought.

It think it looks like dust in the lens or the energy orbs sometimes found by ghost hunters

I'm sorry wisintel but you must have 20 posts before you can create a thread - or consummate the marriage.

So, hurry up dude..!

I love orb pictures. I would think if it was para-normal in nature it is someone who cares about you, or him , or both of you, but could not be there in person (or physical form). Anyway, it sounds better than a ufo. I've seen photos from family members, where the photo anomoly (orb) actually has what I percieve to be a face, but we all know that that is a condition where the brain interpets what it wants to see right?

What really made it interesting to me is the depth you can see in the second picture. The orb/ufo really looks to have moved physically way. If you look closely it looks like it has moved behind the clouds. If it were just one picture or if the Orb didn't move I would say dust.. but the second picture at least makes it look like more than that. These pictures are 4 megabytes each.. I guess you really can't see the depth as well the way these are posted.

Also, my first thought was ufo.. because it was outside and at night.. but I hadn't really thought about the whole energy orb thing. Though I did consider those orbs that supposedly sometimes make crop circles. I appreciate all the feedback. I am not sure this really is anything... but I found it interesting enough to seek a second opinion.

looking at the 2 pictures it certainly appears the object is in the sky and in motion,by definition I would say what you have here is indeed a UFO, but without further evidence to look at it will remain unidentified. Congratulations on your nuptuals.

Could you please post the photo before the first photo you posted, if it exists and is part of that sequence?

I think the UFO was something close to the camera (that's why it looks more out of focus on the first photo than on the second) that was moving away and to the right of the camera.

PS: welcome to ATS.

I agree with another poster - it appears to have moved thru the sky - therefore ruling out dust. I think you had a visitor on your wedding day. Interesting!

I stumbled across something a while back that really made a believer out of me. The link I'm gonna share with you is a time-lapse video. The guy who caught it is an animator... but he is also a photographer. Watch what he caught on time-lapse in the San Francisco Bay Area. It's the TOP time-lapse video on the page.

I personally think you caught yourself an orb. Nice job!!!

S&F for not only getting a possible UFO on pics but getting a girl and marrying her! Good for you. Now do your best to keep her happy. Have some kids. Lead healthy lives.

Welcome to ATS.

Beautiful wedding photo. The orb is probably a beastie but as orbs go, that's a good one. it's nice and round and filled in. Actually looks like a little moon, or might even be a real fairie passing by. Magic.

Very interesting to say the least...However, I don't think it's a UFO. I beieve it is an "orb". I don't know much about orb's but I've seen the photos from various ghost hunters and i don't know much about them but that's what it looks like to me. It also looks like it "flies" away up in the sky. Very interesting! I'm getting married next weekend and hopefully I'll catch some orbs or ufos in my pictures...that would be really cool!

Could very well be dust caught in the light. Doesn't even need to be the same piece of dust in both pictures. It happens. Looks like the lighting and the environment this was photographed in would be very conducive to this effect.

Hey thats quite an interesting photo. Normally I feel like its pretty easy to spot dust or reflections and what not. In this case, Im not so sure its either of those. Of course its not like Im some professional anything to begin with.

Would you be willing to provide us with the original RAW (or as you received it, jpeg, etc) version of the two photos?

It would be cool to see the EXIF data for those.

Of course Im sure that as Im writing this another member has already completely debunked this.

Still, its pretty cool.

That's true, having the original 3888 x 2592 photos would be much better than these smaller versions.

That is a cool site! Amazing Natures Beauty,

for the OP, just not sure about the picture, it's a dull spot compared to the lights in the background.
I can't see making much out of it. But of course your shinning star is your wife, congratulations for you both.

Well dust floats around like that and orbs do as well. It doesn't really look like a UFO to me though.

I know this is unrelated to the thread, and I apologize if someone gets mad about it, mods can erase this post, I just wanted to ask Ahmose what program he used to create that GIF, I would PM him, but I need 20 posts to do that.. so.. sorry.. anyway, What program did you use Ahmose?
thanks in advance
