Why so much animosity toward one world government???

I would be fine with it if the government was generally fair, benevolent and granted the world citizens as many freedoms as possible, while on the other side promoting equality and protecting against corporate pillaging.

The problem: no one really agrees on what government should be, even on local or national levels.
