Last night I watched a programme called "Tabloids, Tories and Telephone Hacking". It was about the News of The World newspaper and its use of
telephone hacking of up to 6,000 individuals including Royalty, Politicians and even victims of crime. Now the editor of the paper at the time was
Andy Coulson, who is now working for the Tory party as chief of its communications.
Yet the thing that struck me most was the close relationship that News International has with the British Police. A troubling amount of influence is
disclosed in the documentary, from having the police decide who they would and would not investigate to News International paying police for
information.
I would be interested to hear the views of anyone else who saw the programme last night, hear is a link any way, this only works in the UK I'm
afraid.
