Diplomat drank drain cleaner in N.Y.

Reminds me of the movie "Heathers", where it was a faked suicide by Draino. That would have to one of the most unpleasant and painful ways to die...

OFFS, he's from Nicaragua, he was probably helping the CIA run drugs and he wanted to bail or he got caught with his pants down trying to skim product or cash. It's a murder to be sure, bet the CIA or State Department grabbed the security tapes!

But just for some fun, let's say he killed himself with two knives and drain cleaner, was he right or left handed? How many stab wounds can you sustain before drinking the drain cleaner and then cutting your own throat?

Oh, someone mentioned drain cleaner was an acid. Not normally. it's an alkaline called Sodium Hydroxide (Drano), also known as Lye (interesting twist there for the police story). Sodium Hydroxide is more than just drain cleaner, it can be used as an electrolyte with HHO cell technology, you can use it to clean all kinds of metal, it works as an excellent cleaner in the cooling lines of combustion engines, if I remember right it is used in oil to diesel conversion for bio-fuels along with methanol and water and of course it is also used in the production of crack coc aine and/or crystal meth (I think both, but my chemistry is a bit rusty).

all this ta;k about cia seems premature. we have no idea who he owed money to, whose wife he was funking, who he pissed off.

all we know is the 'suicide' smells fishy.

"coincided with but was not related to" the UN General Assembly meeting? now in light of the fact that no cause of death has been established, let alone who may have been responsible for those wounds which did not appear to be self inflicted...how in the world would they know that it wasnt related to his UN position? right. im sure one had absolutely nothing to do with the other. im gonna go with murder on this one. im sure the autopsy will reveal he had also kicked himself in the balls while slashing his own throat and guzzling drano.

Actually, it depends on what brand you buy. "The Works", for example, uses hydrochloric acid.

I buy it. Which is an admission that this is a BS explanation, since anything true wouldn't need to be bought.

but how much? I totally believe he drank drain cleaner, then couldn't wait for the effect to occur, so of course he stabbed himself and slit his throat. Perhaps he stabbed himself to get the drain cleaner out, like he made a mistake, "ah that wasn't green milk.. it was drain cleaner, quick I gotta cut this out of me.."

Thank's people there was a lot of good responses. A few of them actually made me laugh and the whole Nicarauguan factor. I agree it all seems shady. I think the fact he's a U.N. Diplomat from Nicaraugua is very relevent. Probably a bigger chance of him getting murdered than say, the average Joe.

Damn, poor guy, what a way to go out... It seems fairly obvious to me that this was not a suicide, but first glances can be deceiving. The reason I think this was a murder, was because 1. That's a pretty strange way to kill yourself, and I can't imagine that being very common.... 2. He's a high ranking government official; and when that's the case, I feel an extreme amount of suspicion is necessary. 3. The situation in the world right now; wars and rumors of wars, political chess games and whatnot.

The other comment above concerning this questionable suicide... The only type of person I can even remotely imagine killing themselves in a rather grisly manner would be a religious zealot and I don't care if they are muslim, catholic or whatever flavour you like, like that Opus Dei bunch. I find it highly improbable that a diplomat, who has probably been fairly pampered most of his life, or at least was at the time prior to his death, would chose to stab himself multiple times then think hmmm, not painful enough or fast enough. Then proceed to drink drain cleaner, hmmm, can't be much worse than a good Tequila straight up right? NOT! But then that isn't working fast enough, so he decides screw it, let me just cut my own throat!

Not some special ops expert and you know if they are running legit secret operations, they do have faster more effective means to suicide themselves, like cyanide. Thinking this case is suicide is about as probable as Princess Diana committed suicide in the car.
