Hey Sahabi

Hello Joecroft, thanks for the reply. I've never known anyone that accepts the prophethood of Muhammad, but believes Jesus is the son of God. I thought it was cool learning that a small sect of Jews believe in Jesus, and remain Jewish in adherence to the Torah and Talmud....

Yes, I think you are referring to Messianic Jews, who have in sense, accepted parts of the Old Testament and New Testament, which show that Jesus is the “son of God”, whilst also keeping with parts of Judaism as well.

I'm very intrigued by a Christian that believes in Muhammad. Would you mind elaborating what role Muhammad plays in your belief system?

Well, I see Muhammad just like I see the prophets in the Old Testament, in that he had revelation from God. I haven’t read all of the Quran but I have read some of it and from what I have looked at, Gods word can be heard through it. Christians reject this because they say it goes against their Christian Doctrines/beliefs but the Christian doctrines that it goes against, I have rejected anyway, so for me, it’s not an issue.

As I pointed out in my first post, I can’t really classify myself as a Christian either, (although I would like to) because I have rejected many of its doctrines, although at the same time, I have also accepted some of them. For example, the Quran rejects the Trinity and I also have rejected the Trinity by definition. There’s more, but it would take a long time to explain it all.

So I currently believe parts but not all parts of the three major religions i.e. Islam, Judaism and Christianity. But because I first came to believe in God through Jesus words and have received the Holy Spirit, which he says believers will receive, I am closer to what Christian’s believe, than I am to what Jews or Muslims believe.

Essentially I believe in the God of Old Testament and that Jesus is the “son of God” and that God spoke through him in the New Testament. From these three basic truths, stem all of the rest of the things, which I believe to be true.

To get back to your topic, one thing which I know to be true, is that the truth does not flow in a straight line but instead, kind of performs a beautiful and very elusive dance, which is extremely difficult to pin down.

I suspect the truth is closer to I MAY be right in the end, but accept the facts that I MAY be mistaken, and will have to stand corrected. I do not think that "faith' makes something "right". I believe "proof" is required...or vindication. Faith alone is not enough to just flat-out declare "IM RIGHT..'CAUSE I KNOW I AM!"

I was wondering whether or not my path was the correct one, so i surfed the web looking for some opinion or advice regarding my query, and instead i came across this thread. It is curious because once i saw this thread, i immediately thought that i was in the correct path, because there are other people who have no idea whatsoever, if they are walking the path intended for them or not. The universe is a wonderful thing, because people fight for opinions, they kill for ideals, religion and politics without thinking of a possibility that their opinion, ideal, religion or politic is really true. You have to search for YOUR OWN truth, NO ONE ELSE'S. Don't believe in anything people tell you, because, like you, people think, do, doubt and have the same insecurities as you. You believe what's right for yourself, nothing else.
People believe theres a God in the heavens, or a Goddess or maybe nothingness. People believe that theres a heaven and a hell, but people don't see that all of that is total bull#. Heaven or hell is just in the mind, if you live a guilty life (this doesnt mean you're going to live your life helter skelter, there are still rules to abide by) then expect danger your way, cuz youre going to be meddling with people who with no second thoughts will step over you easily and without remorse, then this is hell, dear. Now if you live a life, expecting the best, loving yourself and others then you are in the so called paradise. as for the Bible, think of Deepak Chopra, Paulo Coelho, and all these people who write about the life after death, and # like that. Now think about the Bible, that is a compilation of books written in a very wide lapse of time, do you not think that the Bible is the ancient version of Deepak Chopra, Paulo Coelho and such? And people say that you're going to rot in hell, give me a break. This makes more sense to me than any standarized religion. The Bible is Wisdom laced with a touch of Ignorance. Anyway, listen to John Lennon's song, Imagine, and you'll get the picture. to finish my little post here, im going to quote Buddha, its an imperfect, cause i dont have picture-perfect memory, but last time i checked, it was pretty accurate. " Do not believe a word people say, not even what I say, believe what's true to you Heart." Blessed Be!
