PINAL COUNTY - The investigation into a sheriff deputy's desert shootout last April is now reopened.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Department said it will re-examine evidence following new theories about the shooting deputy Louie Puroll claims he had with smugglers.

I personally thought the story seemed "fishy" when it first happened. I'm curious if reopening the case is in response to the new billboard.

The sign features a Hispanic family, suggesting they are a serious security threat.
