UFO-Nukes First Media Reports: "Shock Claim," "Alien Visits," "Interfered With Weapons," and "Hmmm…"

A possibility for the (in my opinion) slow trickle of news reports is this: since many of them didn’t attend the conference personally, they have to go home and watch the video. It was, after all, scheduled at lunch time, 12:30pm.

I’m also sure that the msm is still warming up to UFO coverage. There is a demand for such coverage, so some outlets — like The Washington Post — is covering this stuff a bit grudgingly.

The article gives a small run-down of the headlines in the news, and points out that most of the news this evening is written by people who weren't there, didn't bother to even watch the CNN feed, and have already made up their minds that this is a joke.

He also seems to wonder why many of these news outlets even covered it -- when, after all, these stories were totally ignored even a few years ago. Do they feel they *need* to cover this stuff to remain credible?

Some of the better coverage seems to be from the British press, btw.

One interesting bit is from The Washington Post (which did a terribly half-a**ed job). The Post article does point out that someone from the House Armed Services Committee was at the conference. Interesting!

Anyhow, it's cool that this is getting some attention. It's a start.

This had it's positives and negatives for us. The biggest negative is all the people who giggle at this and don't take it seriously what-so-ever. But i've seen a fair amount of fair coverage. The positives is that for all the people who laugh, some people will take this kick in the butt and do some more research. That's how I came to ATS, actually, after watching a UFO show on Sci-Fi. Yea, I know they're fakesters, but I caught onto the UFO crazy from there and it got me to do research of my own. And I think CNN, etc covering this lent it some degree of credibility. I just wish that some of the TV personalities, or hell, even radio, would really jump on the issue and start to raise these questions, because these guys can really get a crowd following them if they tried (Glenn Beck, Jon Stewart), and it could strike a chord with those people wanting a truly open government, meaning it's not just about the UFO's, its about the symbolism.

If a guy took it on and led a public charge to find out the truth, I think we could finally get "disclosure" in some sense from the US government. Might be dreaming, but who knows.

If you're interested, this is a video of Stephen Colbert interviewing Leslie Kean, whose new book "UFOs" is based on the exact same subject as this press conference. Unfortunately, he ends up trying to make a fool of her, but she holds her own quite well and I think a lot of viewers took her seriously. I know it's just a comedy show but it has HUGE ratings.

I love how she stays on track -- correcting people who make the assumption that UFOs = aliens. She also is great about quickly saying "yes 95% of all the UFO sightings are explainable; and I am interested in the other 5%."

She's very clear that she didn't write a book about aliens, although extraterrestrials are a possible explanation for at least some of the UFO sightings.

Leslie Kean has a fan in me, that's for sure.
