FBI raids homes of several prominent members of Twin Cities antiwar movement

www.startribune.com

Among the homes raided were the apartments of Jessica Sundin, who was a principal leader of the mass antiwar march of 10,000 on the opening day of the Republican National Convention two years ago, ....

Supporters for the three activists had gathered on the sidewalks outside each of the residences.

Ted Dooley, an attorney, said he had reviewed the search warrant issued in the raid on Kelly's apartment. "It's a probe into the political beliefs of American citizens and to any organization anywhere

This is intimidation in a quest for silence, and to teach a lesson that 'thou must not protest", smells like the fourth reich rising...

This only adds to that nagging feeling I have been having. Sadly, most people will miss this and walk blindly into the wall.

BTW, your link is broken

According to the article they are looking for information providing support to terror organizations. They were also ordered to appear before a grand jury. Weather the allegations are true or not I do not know. About all I can really say is I hope the system will protect the people it is suppose to protect.

Is it any wonder that the Fan Belt Inspectors were pushed (I assume) to raid these antiwar activists in a northern secessionist stronghold?

And link seems to be working for me, here it is again LINK

Looks like the U.S. government brown shirts have started their inquisition.

"Anti-war" now equates to "terrorist."

Thank you so much for posting this! I happen to reside in the in the State of the Twin Cities and this is the first time I've heard this (don't really read/watch local news). This is a very scary thing. I am anti-war on all fronts but do not protest as I am a full time student and do not have time in my schedule FOR NOW. I have been getting this itch that I need to get out there and protest more and more because of the way this country is heading. It's a very sad, sad thing that we now have to be scared to even express our opinions.

I'm absolutely disgusted and this makes me more likely to start protesting in the future because I will not let them trample my freedoms.

Again, thanks to the OP.

Unlike the puppy video from youtube in which the entire world banned together to catch the puppy perpetrator..no one will likely care about this blatant trampling of our freedoms.

The ironic thing is that they probably protest wars for which people would likely tell them, "they are fighting for your freedoms"...well, one has to wonder now what they are fighting for at all, huh.

The system is a theatrical designed to make the public think that they have a voice.
Meanwhile the implication that if you oppose war you will be considered as aiding 'terrorists" is a given.

I swear, it's stories like this that make me reconsider the merits of vigilantism against the judge issuing these search warrants, and the agents working the case. They better have a damn good reason, evidence, and probable cause against these people to disrupt their lives like this. And they should pay for the guy's front door they kicked in.

I expect there will be more and more of this type of intimidation.
This is in keeping with the next stage of the coup...
Defining the ememies of the Homeland....
Didnt ANYBODY catch that ironic twist?Homeland and Vaterland?
Its a page from the nazi propaganda handbook.
There was a good deal of psychology used by Hitlers boys to make the germans march to their tune....
If the real patriots dont or wont stand up soon itll be plain too effin late!

The title of the article is misleading; these were not anti-war protesters. While these individuals may have been involved at protests, the group they belong to, Freedom Road Socialist Organization, is an extremist Marxist group that does give vocal support to groups such as FARC and Hezbollah.

Now, I am not saying that this makes them guilty, far from it. However, we should not assume this is a trampling of freedoms by the FBI simply because this group may superficially share some of our own views. We should wait for the evidence to come out.

Like we waited for the evidence to come out about the FBI/ATF murder of Randy Weaver's wife at Ruby Ridge?

Based upon your reply I would suggest, if you have not done so already, a study of the Techniques used by the WWII Polish resistance... They went after those who engaged in and/or sanctioned torture. Hitler's own chief of intel, Reinhart Gehlen (spelling, sorry) told his operatives to study the techniques used by the Polish Resistance!

I hope this does not deter others from protesting the war, but I am afraid that it might. They suspect them of terrorism - raid the homes of the real terrorist for crying out loud. This country is becoming so arse backwards!

Found this report this morning: Oct 8

More FBI dirty tricks on MN human rights defenders

Eisert did not fall for the FBI's dirty trick.

"I was called away from my desk and when I refused to talk to them, they tried to turn me against my friends and fellow activists," said Eisert.

"They said that Jess Sundin, Meredith Aby and Mick Kelly had manipulated me and others in the anti-war movement. The only ones trying to manipulate me are these FBI agents."
