The Queen asked ministers for a poverty handout to help heat her palaces but was rebuffed because they feared it would be a public relations disaster, documents disclosed under the Freedom of Information Act reveal.

Royal aides were told that the £60m worth of energy-saving grants were aimed at families on low incomes and if the money was given to Buckingham Palace instead of housing associations or hospitals it could lead to "adverse publicity" for the Queen and the Government.

Yeah, she should sell it to The Pope, he's the only one who could pay for it in Gold.

What i hate the most is that when a regular person needs to heat their home for a day, its not that much. When the damn queen needs to heat her palace, it takes enough money to create a new technology to heat anything without wasting energy.

Why isn't anyone calling China? If their funds have been keeping the White House warm, why not the Queens Palace!

This is sick. 60 million dollars a year from the taxpayers is not a "ceremonial" title that does nothing.
