Here is a short but sweet article. So basically they upgraded it's capabilities. Will we see a new market for sales of this model? I think the upgrade is rather impressive. One question, why release this information now?

Giving Sight Back to an F-15C Golden Eagle

The Air Force this year deployed F-15C Golden Eagle warplanes with new active electronically scanned arrays (AESA) that can track more targets with precision and can guide several missiles at once. AESA’s digital beams, which replace radar that turns mechanically, are agile enough to spot cruise missiles and enable the F-15C to shoot them down with air-to-air missiles. (The Air Force is now testing a system that enables the F-15Cs, built in the late 1970s, to shoot down ballistic missiles as well.)

Sales I'd say.

There will be demand for this in South Asia.

They are concerned with having the ability to shoot down Cruise and Ballistic missiles?

Yeah for sure. Everyone is gearing up down here big time what with China trying to assert control over the region. Singapore would probably love a squadron. Japan as well perhaps. They are certainly in a position to want them.

I could see these selling very well to US Middle East allies perhaps, although I don't know how effective they'd be at those ranges.

Well that's a rather interesting perspective. Do you have any links to support the idea that there is a possible growing market for this model version in the region?
