couldn't agree more. yet, in my last post of an encounter i let them search my pack of apples. laughed about it to boot.
a mistake, but didn't think it through, and just let them look in my daypack.

other encounters this trip.
-las vegas, n.m. police officer pulled up next to me, told me i had a tailight out and should fix it.
i thanked him and he drove on by.

-las vegas police officer bought a military extreme cold parka from me at market. thanked me up, down, and sideways for the good deal.

-dog catcher in santa fe told me there is a leash law and i should use one on my dog. played stupid tourist and had no problem.

-new mexico state police officer stopped right behind me after i stopped to help and older gentleman who was broke down on the way into pecos. had him up and running by the time he stopped, they both thanked me for helping.
