Glad someone is monitoring this. Japan is beginning to become dangerous again. Between their outright nose thumbing at the international community over their whaling "research" and less than transparent attempts to build up their "defensive services" into a functional military, I don't know how much longer we can trust the Emire of the Rising Sun to remain in its dormant state.

I have deep concerns about China trying to force Japan into bed with them over and above our (US) connections and agreements with them, when the incident at sea happened I wondered how long it would be before we began to see the lines being drawn and the final markers in place for a military action on the part of China against our allies in Japan.

I don't even know to begin to respond to that. Don't oversimplify things miss antar, let's just put it like that.

I would have liked to see what the rest of that video had to say..they cut it off just one word short.

and to be prepared for Chinas...?

Not that I expect you to know, since its not in the video, I just thought it waskind of weird that they cut the video at that point.

The admiral is right. If you want to be a big boy, you have to play by big boy rules.

LOl funny you should say that, I do tend to look towards the most simple of reasons behind everything from math to politics among other things people like to over think imho. But if I am wrong than that comes as no surprise to me, just wonder where this is really headed and what it represents in the bigger picture on down the road.

"The arrest, for obstructing officers on duty, quickly grew from a seemingly minor incident into a highly emotional issue in both countries, where it has become a top news item and has begun to spill over into other aspects of the two nations’ extensive economic and political ties."

I don't like the sound of that. I don't see this as anything dangerous (I'm not actually qualified to make reliable projections, it's just my personal opinion), but there could be some unfortunate outcomes to this.

When I read: "it has become a top news item and has begun to spill over into other aspects of the two nations’ extensive economic and political ties." I worry about how this will affect people and their businesses.

Japan to Release Chinese Trawler Captain Involved in Boat Collision

Japanese prosecutors say they will release a Chinese trawler captain who has been detained since his boat collided with Japanese patrol vessels in disputed waters. The incident enraged China, which retaliated by canceling meetings with Japanese officials and, traders say, halting shipments of essential exports.
