Why would ATS promote a show for a network that the majority of the sites members loathe corporations and corporate media outlets. It was my belief that ATS wasn't about corporation or corporate entities, now we have one of the preeminent site for alternative topics appearing to sell out and promote NBC, the same NBC that gets ragged on day in and day out on this website. by the very people that will watch the stupid show. So what is it, because the show is about a fictional disclosure scenario that's ok for ATS to smear nbc logos and promos all over the homepage? Sounds fishy to me that the site the condemns corporate America is now promoting one of its biggest propaganda machines in NBC.

My question is this, is ATS just a corporation now? Got the new fancy website with all the bells and whistles (just like a corporation) all sorts of different media flashing here there and everywhere.

I dunno but I think that someone dropped the ball over at ATS HQ, because this seems extremely contradictory to what this web community is all about. I Hope all the hypocrites enjoy.

Just remember the show next time you go to post a reply about how much you hate corporations...... except of course when they have a show about aliens then they are ok (insert sarcasm)

I think they are promoting a show on NBC called "The Event". This show was much talked about on here b/c it has to do with disclosure or the reason why there isn't any disclosure.

P.S.
NBC is loathed by site members? For what reason? I mean I'm not being fecious or sarcastic I just didn't know the network was loathed.

Personally I only watch adult swim, discovery channel, history channel, and the travel channel.

What are you talking about? Are you talking about one of the ads on the site? Those are not controlled by ATS -- they are controlled by the third party advertisment provider.

Not sure what you are on about here.

Are you really that iggnorant or naive?

ATS is a business. After many months here, I don't recall ATS taking a stand one way or the other about corporations or business...or much else for that matter... only the members. As for the views of the members, there are many sides...some oppose capitalism and business, some are for capitalism and business.

ATS doesn't exist in some make believe world where money is free and the means to support a business come from some "pie in the sky" socialist dream world....it costs money to run this site. The people that developed this site must make money and want to make money...if they do not, they shut it down or sell it to the highest bidder.

NBC has a show that might interests conspiracy and alien enthusiasts..that would be you and me and many others here. So, they are applying Marketing 101...reach your target audience where your audience is...ATS.

If you do not like advertising or NBC or the business world or reality...then you have the option to go away.

Ok, I understand now... I never go to the ATS home page so I did not see that... But yeah, as the members above have said.. It is a paid advertisement for a topical show.

I've never been hit-up for a single cent to use ATS.
The content is user created and driven.

Given those two facts, personally, I'd be thrilled if the good folks who ran this place were to find a way to milk money from every big evil corporation in the world. These people gave us our playground, free of charge, and they deserve something for their time and dedication.

i noticed this too. i think it is because the creators of the site probably couldn't help but notice how stupid and gullible some of us are. it isn't hard to tell that half of the people here would buy just about anything if you slapped a picture of a ufo on the front of it and filled it with "facts" that support their strange beliefs. now keep in mind i am not trying to insult anyone in particular here, but honesty is always my policy. but anyway if i were in their shoes i would take advantage of some of that sweet, sweet ad revenue myself.

If you don't like it, what do you propose the monthly ATS subscription would be to keep you posting threads like this one?

how is this in the Aliens forum?

PERSONALLY I rather like not having to pay for my ATS.

If you do not like what ATS has done or that they are making money to support the site by promoting a show that is clearly of interest to ATS members, you are welcome to not patronize the site.
