Ism's of one sort or another exist in every man, family, and society on this planet. We do not come into this world with Ism's. We come naked and
bare, a blank slate, upon which our environment writes Ism's as we grow. First we learn of the Ism's of our parents and family, who in turn learned
from theirs. Once we have attained the maturity to venture forth into the world, we learn of more Ism's. Be it from our church, or school, day care,
whatever, we encounter Ism's galore. Ism's that closely resemble the Ism's of those we trust, ie. our parents, family, church, etc., we accept and
those Ism's of those we do not trust we flatly reject and at times times fight against. These Ism's we learn become a part of us. We forget the
blank slate we were, no longer able to see it for all the Ism's that have been written upon us. The Ism's become us in our mind. It is not true of
course, but the only way to see it is not true is to wipe the slate clean once more. How does one do this when he believes the Ism's are he? Shall he
wipe out his own existence? Some do, but this is rare!
Anyway, you get the idea of Isms. Be it racism, sexism, communism, liberalism, fundamentalism, these are all just ideas we wrap around ourselves. At
our very being we are none of these. We are all the same. A divine spark wrapped in a machine designed by God for the purpose of exploring and
understanding his Greatness and Goodness. As we ALL have a very different perspective, perspective being the center of our being from which we observe
and contemplate, it is natural to come to different perceptions. It is only when we look within that we see our unity. If you want to stamp out any
Ism, start with your own. Once you walk the world naked again, others will trust you and be more willing to divest themselves of their own Ism's.
Naked is an uncomfortable state to be, until you realise you always were.
