Tell me, are you a narcissist? Do you want attention? To me, people that want the spotlight- A, have a personality disorder or B are not too intelligent or C have reasons for wanting exposure e.g. politicians or celebrities.

Sorry, if someone came up to me and started to ask me what KFC stood for, I would immediately assume it was another look how dumb people are video.

Look at the video made of the guy offering the 1 ounce gold coin for say $10 bucks. First off, how are you going to tell it is gold, bite it? Second, people on the street with a camera, attempting to ask you questions. Do they tell you the purpose.

Yeah, I am sure Lady Diana appreciated getting cameras shoved in her face. One example.

Sorry, if a stranger walked up to me in public, with a camera, asking idiotic questions, I would tell them to piss off. I am not your average politically correct individual.

As for the WHOLE question if Americans are STUPID.

QUESTION, asking if you know what a turbine wheel provides an axial flow turbine engine, if you do not know, does that make you STUPID or IGNORANT. There is a difference.

What I find amusing, these videos are not a detriment to the citizens of the US, they show exactly what big government public schools have created. A society of ignorant narcissists.

You know what! I have been thinking about these videos and the meaning behind it. The motivation behind these videos is not to insult American people rather make them aware of world affairs and inform them how little they know about the world they interfere with. A - my personality disorder allegedly stems from my close proximity to numerous things that went boom during my 7 deployments to warzones. I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder associated with Traumatic Brain Injuries during the 3+ years i spent in warzones. According to my Government I am as mentally disabled as one can be (100%), and I currently recieve a generous retirement check monthly at the cost of the taxpayers. Yet, I still harbor strong feelings of obligation, loyalty, fealty, and reverence towards people. The doctors employed by the DOD felt it necessary to retain me in the USAF for more than 24 months after my contractual enlistment was up, for extensive testing. I was not diagnosed with any additional behavioral or neurological disorders. One of my biggest symptoms is extreme insomnia, often going without sleep for more than a month at a time, the longest being 5 weeks and 3 days.

B - During mandatory psychological testing that lasted months I was studied by over 50 doctors of varying disciplines. Tests revealed that during the morning hours I tested at an 8th grade level. Tests revealed that during the afternoons my intelligence was at a 6th year college level, and during late evening hours I tested higher than that, but I will not share those results.

C - I have little aspirations to be a politician or a celebrity. I do not seek the spotlight. I live on the outskirts of a small town in the woods, and I seldom seek attention from people. I do however freely share how I feel about things here on ATS, and I do enjoy the ATS community,

You immediately assume a great deal of things. Dare I say it is a habit with you.

Second, people on the street with a camera, attempting to ask you questions. Do they tell you the purpose.

Ask them the purpose, instead of assuming. If you do not wish to take part, politely decline the interview, instead of answering questions you don't know the answer to. Answering questions you don't know the answer to and not stating you are speculating is a sign of being stupid in my opinion.

That is one thing I actually respect you for, not being politically correct, but you can extend a little more empathy to think outside your comfort zone once in awhile. And, I guess you do. ATS is an environment where our thoughts are taken outside our comfort zone and we do often encounter ideas outside our "bubble" so to speak.

Actually it does fit the definition of ignorant, in the sense one does not know about turbine wheels and axial flow turbine engines. Everyone I know is ignorant about something (consciously); ignorance meaning lack of understanding or knowing about a specific subject. Stupid is knowing or having been introduced but still repeatedly doing the same thing under the same circumstances and environment while expecting or hoping for different results.

What I find amusing, these videos are not a detriment to the citizens of the US, they show exactly what big government public schools have created. A society of ignorant narcissists.

I do not think these people are really narcissistic. I think they are the result of neuro-linguistical programming and instinctual intracelllular biological obligations mixed with the company of those who know how to manipulate the genetic instructions of macro-organisms.

Those that would actually talk to them, are the type that watch the propaganda tube. They are people that want attention like the people they see on the telly.

Great video. Gotta add my comments though. I work with kids, and frequently i am appalled at their ignorance. In a group of 18 kids from 13-18, i will often have 3-5 who cant even read a standard clock. They can only read digital. Asking them to name what countries we are at war in, i am lucky if i get one out of the three. Asking why we are at war in iraq, im told its because they bombed the two towers. Asked what country lies on the southern border of the US, I get answers like "africa", or "england". When i Ask when the civil war was i get answers like 1960's. Just horrific. None of them can name a single ruler from another country, not even the queen of england.

My girlfriend and I fostered two children for several years. They were palestinian, who are now among the poorest and most oppressed people in the world. One was four and one was eight, and both spoke three fluent languages....while the american kids i teach can hardly even speak 1....their native one at that. When we put the two children in school, they were far ahead of their american peers.

When i talk to most adults, few can name when the civil war was, or what the vietnam war was really over. None have a clue about how many casualties Iraq has had. Few can name their congressmen or senators, much less the VP or sec. of state. Or sec of defense. Most americans have no clue why we invaded panama, or how our differences with Cuba originated, or our involvement with Iran, or any of the other countries whose leaders we have overthrown, or tried to overthrow. Most of them have no knowledge of who or what AIPAC is. What can I say? I think it really speaks for itself.

God, I hate videos like these. They just cut out every person who gets the answers right.

Also, people get nervous when they are asked questions in front of cameras, and in crowded places. When you are put on the spot, your mind works differently.

Anyway... videos like these can be made in ALL countries because the ENTIRE WORLD IS STUPID.

Why do I take these videos so seriously?

Do people find it funny that our public schools have become so deficient, that large number of kids nowadays have a hard time even pointing out there city or state on a map let alone their country?

No, I find any jokes made at the detriment to someone else not to be funny, I find them to be sad.
