Does anyone else play this game?

I discovered it last week or so from this video series from SeaNanners



It's kinda hard to explain, so it might help to skim through a video. Basically it's a world made out of blocks. And there are a bunch of different materials and you create stuff. Like you dig a mine, mine out some iron, make iron tools. Or if you find gold you can make gold...stuff. And then you can go crazy building all sorts of stuff. Here's some pictures of my place.

Yeah, that's a waterfall and a KISS logo inside a glass swimming pool.



You can just be creative and make whatever you want really. I think it's fun.

Lol, its retro! It's a bit like Darwinia. I like these style of games.



I'll have to check out Minecraft..

Was going to make a thread on this myself... fantastic game, the most addictive I've played in a long time.

You have to buy it, yeah. It's like 13 dollars. And then you get all the updates for free.

Man, I found out about this game on Thursday, bought it on Friday, and have almost not stopped playing it since, lol.

I started with nothing, but now I live in a 2 story house built into the side of a mountain, completely with glass balcony overlooking my property, and astronomy tower, a log cabin by the lake, and 3 separate mine shafts.

I can hardly stop playing, lol.

Hate to bring up an old thread, but Minecraft is going Beta today. (Of course it's likely any regular Minecrafter or prospective Tree Puncher already knows this.)

Anyhow, anyone else here run a server? I have one, but I plan on keeping it small (like under a dozen players) also the uptime for mine is sporadic. (As in it's up when I'm playing on it, otherwise you'll have to catch me online and ask.) I've only got two people that have been on it, so if anyone here wants in - feel free to fire a U2U. I have monsters and damage turned on, so watch out for creepers if you join. I'll fill in on more details for anyone that joins.

If anyone has a good server that needs people for working on a project or doing some kind of questing or expanding the map with outposts and colonies, I'm game for that too.

I bought it in september, and it's took over my life. And now Beta's out, and I have Christmas break...

[Edit] You make a server by downloading the software, forwarding the port (dunno how), and setting the server properties. I have my own, but it's down until the 24th.
