The U.S. poverty rate jumped to 14.3 percent in 2009, the highest rate since 1994, the Census Bureau reported Thursday.

It also hit the ranks of working-age poor at the highest rate since at least 1965.

The Census Bureau says that about 43.6 million people, or 1 in 7, were in poverty last year. That's up from 39.8 million, or 13.2 percent, in 2008.

I agree with you one hundred percent. While the immigration problem is something that definatly needs to be dealt with, it will not help our economy enough to stop what is happening. We are getting close to something major happening, it went from sites like these predicting it for a long time to mainstream media not being able to cover it up any more because even your average person knows something major is about it happen. Best thing to do is prepare.
