Very disturbing dream

Firstly, a friend of mine had this dream yesterday, and told me about it today. He is not one for internet or forums, and very conservative. And really, i know the "my friend" thing is suspicious, but its the truth.

He told me he was standing in a big open plane. There was two cars in front of him. The one was a old beaten up crock, and the other one a flashy sports car. Out of nowhere, satan, or the devil appeared to him. As he was looking at the two cars, trying to decide wich one he wants, the devil tells him to take the flashy one. The devil said that he would give him all the riches in the world and more if he would just choose him. The devil tried to convince him to follow his materialistic ways.

Now we are both christian guys, and hold to christian beliefs. However we are not bible bashers or anything. I just found this dream really disturbing. My friend was clearly disturbed by this and don't know what to make of this. Him, and me, don't really believe in dreams or predictions.

My question is this: Does this dream have any meaning? Do people often dream of the devil manifesting himself?
I am sure there are people that can answer these question.

Went home without his shoes, wallet, watch or pants.

That dream sums it up though ... we get this choice sometimes. I'd guess he's got a difficult moral problem right now, work or family perhaps, and his mind is trying to both figure it out, and draw his conscious attention to it.

Of course, the flashy car he'll pay for LATER.

He may have had some recent experience involving devil, satan, temptations and whatnot. Either way I don't think it was prophetic...

It means that your friend likes men.

At least he knew it was Satan. Maybe the hour of temptation that Jesus spoke of is closer than we think.
I try to imagine being tempted the same way Jesus was. What weakness of mine could Satan get me for. What could he get you for? It's easy to say nothing, he couldn't have me for the world. That's why the economy must first fall and we must all be weak, hungry, needy and greedy enough to be easily tempted. The ones who are tempted must first feel as if they had just fasted for 40 days.

So what did your friend say Satan looked like?

While I always advise to ponder dreams and ask for guidance via prayer to Yahweh, I can share with you that the Spiritual War rages on two fronts. In the Spirit Realm as well as in the Physical Realm. Messages often come in the form of dreams and both sides of the war use them to communicate with us.

Acts 2:17 And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out My Spirit on all humanity; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

Perhaps the two cars represented two ways. The flashy car would look nice, and perhaps drive nice on the wide road of destruction but in the end what would it get him? What is new now eventually gets old, loses it's flash and one day disappears all together. While the other car would require a certain amount of humility to own and to drive and it may not go as fast and perhaps only be good on smaller less traveled roads - like the Narrow Path. And with some care it could be restored and renewed, just as we all can be if we chose to put Yahweh and Christ first in our lives.

So the dream could have been a wake up call, asking him to make a choice. Of being of this world and all that it represents along with the tin god Satan who rules over it, or not of this world and seeking entrance into Christ's Kingdom, and being ready and willing to leave all of this world behind. It's a choice each person must make for themselves as we must all work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. And, I can tell you in truth that time is running out for mankind.

Making the choice can be difficult. We want what is new and flashy and expensive and of the here and now - but in having it what does it truly gain us? How important is it really when compared to your eternal life? Christ knew, which is why he successfully resisted the temptations of Satan.

The goal of Satan and his followers is to tempt and/or mislead all they can and pull them away from Yahweh and Christ by any means possible. Their tactics are seemingly endless and if they are successful, it means the loss of eternal lives. Being a Christian is not a guarantee of eternal life. In addition to accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior, we must also have a "good heart condition". (You can read more about this HERE)

No one is immune to the tactics or the temptations we come up against as Christ's followers. And we must always have our guard up. But most importantly we must always be resisting the sinful natures we all possess and that Satan and his followers will use to tempt us, doing our utmost best to walk the Narrow Path and always be reaching for Father's light.

I have never had the devil in my dreams but I'm sure he dreams about me.

Your friends dream has meaning if you decide to give it meaning. Dreams happen, applying meaning is up to each of us.
