I wonder if you are aware of a term called bio-accumilation. As you go higher up the food chain the accumilation of toxins and their decay
products increases by an order of magnitude untill what was considered a "safe" level of toxins in the lower levels of the food chain become deadly
or detrimental to the higher and top level preditors. Short term rebound dose not necessary mean long term stability, as accute toxic levels reduce
the long term chronic toxic effects can be masked only to surface at a later date. Sinergistic effects set aside some of the decay products are more
toxic than the pollution in the first place. One season dose not make a year...
