Nothing that scary, just looking for an explanation.

I'm going to be honest right off the bat, i'm pretty much ignorant when it comes to paranormal stuff. I don't really know names of anything, i don't think i've ever gone to the astro-plane, and i don't really think i have any special gifts. With that, here's my story.

One of my friends when I was 12 years old (we'll call her Amy) had practiced wicca all her life. Her mother and her mother's long-time boyfriend also had been practicing wicca for decades. With their guidance, i started to explore and dabble slightly in wicca. Now one night when I stayed over their house, Amy led me into her room, asked me to look around and to tell her what I saw. I told her I saw a bunch of different animals. She said she saw the same thing.

Now here's my question. Since that night at her house, i've seen glimpses of a black cat out of the corner of my eye spontaneously. Usually the cat is walking, but sometimes he'll be sitting on my bed, or other places. I never see him outside my house (and i've moved twice since that night at Amy's house). This happens about every 10-14 days, but sometimes i'll see him two or three times in one week, and other times he'll be gone for weeks or months on end.

Can anybody give me some sort of explanation, or just tell me if it's my imagination?

That reminds of when people will think they see someone standing around, they do a double take, and no one is there.

No, I don't think its your imagination. I think there actually IS someone standing around the corner, and i think that cat actually IS hangin around you.

But I believe that if these creatures can jump through parallel universes and drop by ours for a visit, I don't think theyd screw up. If tat cat freaks you out or scares you, its bad. If it doesnt scare you, its good. Simple? Yes!

have you ever approached the cat? Or talked to it?

I've never been afraid of the cat before, just curious as to why it's hanging around me.

The cat never stays around long enough for me to approach or talk to him, he usually only appears for maybe 5 seconds max.

Can anybody tell me why he might be here?

I used to have what I called 'my little demon'. He was a shadowman, about a foot and a half tall. (google for shadowmen... it may answer alot of your questions... but I also have another idea...). My demon would show up and give me warnings (kept me from getting hit by cars several times). He never really bothered me at all... almost like my guardian spirit, which is what I think your 'cat' may be. I think it may be more of a 'companion spirit' than a guardian. I, personally, think that it may have taken a liking to you, and you should definitly be thankful for it being there.

I miss my demon He may still be around and I have grown away from being able to see him (they've shown, you may want to look it up, that children up to the age of 5 can see auras. We are 'shortsighted' by society into only percieving the light spectrum...)

Here's a good site that will explain alot of things to you. I'd definitly look into other sites as well, just for the sake of curbing possible ignorance (never know... you can always find conflicting info).

It sounds as though this is one of your totem animals.

Now... in spite of all the new age fluff, totems don't have a fixed meaning. So... think of the black cat as a guardian spirit and learn to pay attention to it. They're creatures of good and will usually warn you of problems or may appear to give you advice.
