i am a bit confused how attacking iraq even avenged 9/11, what did iraq have to do with it? i thought that was why the u.s. went into afghanistan, to get rid of a training camp. the hijackers were mainly saudi, so how does iraq fit into it?

How short peoples memories are. I refer you to the speech George Bush made before the Congress on Sept 20, 2001.

Saddam Hussein's Iraq, trained, supported and gave safe haven to terrorists. Saddam Hussein, while there is no PROVEN link to the events of 9/11, had connections to Al Qaeda. Do not be fooled by the morons who like to claim that the "religiously pure Osama" would have nothing to do with the "corrupt Saddam" ..its a lie. Numerous members of Al Qaeda had Iraq government credentials, we know this. One of the wanted terrorists for the WTC 93 attack....was on the payroll of Saddam's military.

For years, the United States ignored Islamic terrorism...after 9/11, George Bush decided no more. If you were involved with 9/11....we were coming. If you supported terrorists who attacked us...we were coming. Saddam screwed up, he was given the chance to come clean...he didn't.
