Woman jailed for using knife to slit dog's throat

TextNASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Nashville woman was arrested this week after she allegedly used a knife to slit a dog's throat. According to an affidavit authored by Metro Animal Control, Tasha Lynn Tarphagan, 30, killed the three-month-old black lab mix outside her home on Meridian Street in south Nashville Sunday afternoon.

Be sure to watch the accompanying video as this lovely woman is interviewed. She denies sawing the puppy's throat, despite the numerous eye witnesses willing to testify to the contrary. What I really like is that she explains how she just hit the puppy over the head with a shovel several times. As if that somehow is ok, but slashing its throat is not.

What is with people? I know, there will be someone who will post in this thread saying "its just an animal, why dont you all care about people?" Well I do care about people. You can care about both people and animals. It isnt a one or the other deal.
