No one killed but afew slightly injured. Approx $2Billion in damage but I expect that bill to increase after the aftershocks. Alot of damage. Videos coming out now in the NZ Herald.

Thankfully, the facilities and infrastructure are top notch in NZ, which partly contributed to the fact that the death toll is negligible, as opposed to a country like Haiti, that suffered badly due to very poor infrastructure.

I still think that Christchurch was extremely lucky to suffer apparently such low casualties in the quake, and I offer my best wishes to those that have relatives in that area of the South Island !

The damage bill has now reached approx $4 billion (still counting) and over 100,000 homes are damaged, many to be demolished. Many pet animals are still missing and domestic violence has sky rocketed in CHCH by 52% since the quake.
