7.0 earthquake hits Christchurch, New Zealand

Interesting, Aoraki, as a friend who works in both Bromley and Dyer's Pass has said that she, too, started feeling the sea-sickness feeling and wobby-ness returning yesterday pm. When did your wife start feeling it?

I'm trying to find out if Doc Quigley is repeating the talk he did a couple of weeks back, or if he's adding to it. If it's new info I hope to go along.

She mentioned it yesterday.
Just something to monitor at the moment and watch for patterns.

I think it has new content by the sounds of it. Said Wife has organised dinner however so hopefully it will be recorded.
Still, good Greek food can't be too bad.

First 'decent' one I've felt at work. Glad I was only on the second floor!

It was a good shake thats for sure was just about to dive under the desk at work when it started to calm down.
Felt much stronger than the 5.0 mag rating - I was sure it was a 5.8 - 6 mag range shaker but seems not.
A fair amount of things knocked off shelves, no breakages though.

Mother nature is great at reminding us she is still in charge of things

And so it goes on .... this morning has already been busy with aftershocks...

AND, I notice that the USGS have started reporting them as low as 4.0 ... why? Should I be worried now that the USGS seem interested? What do they know that we don't (perhaps the location of the hidden deep thrust fault?!!)
