Last night while walking to a bar with a friend we saw a very bright orangey/red thing going through the sky, we figured for a start it was far too bright to be a plane or anything, and it was moving extremely fast. We figured it was a comet but today I couldn't find anything about it, I assumed if it was a comet then it'd be documented. I guess if it was a meteor then it might be less likely to appear in any kind of "prediction", so wondered if anyone else saw it?

I saw it from East Anglia in England, at around 11pm.

Was it gone quickly? I mean did you only see it for a few seconds?
If so it was probably a meteor not a comet, and it was most likely from the Alpha Aurigids shower.

and was it towards the west because we saw one last night also and it was a shooting star, it was almost 2 am here that means it was almost 11 pm your time.

I saw a similar sighting a couple of weeks back (think it was either one or two weeks ago) was around 11:30pm - 12:30am.

I can confirm it was too the west as my road lines up perfectly on the compass and goes from east to west. It appeared for a couple of seconds. It was brighter then a star, yellowey - orange in colour and moved slowly then disappeared.

Most likely a meteor

Yea it was also going west here. It was moving very fast and disappeared behind a load of houses.

Haven't ever seen a comet or meteor before so was something new, pretty amazed at how bright and big it was.

A comet moves through the skies over a period of days or weeks - you certainly will never see movement with the naked eye. So it was probably a bright meteor or fireball - which can be seen at any time, though more commonly at certain times of the year when the Earth passes through a meteor swarm (most of which are debris left behind by comets hundreds or thousands of years ago).

Check out spaceweather.com. And scroll to the bottom of the page. It lists recent asteroids and comets etc also up coming ones with dates, magnitudes and earth miss distances. There's a few on the way. Hope it helps.
One more thing? If anyone is able to find a comet, asteroid or other including a missile of any sort that is named bitterness or a name that means or has significance to bitterness please let me know. Many thanks.

man I saw something weird last night, saw this orange thing in the sky way in the distance, thought probably a chinese lantern, im not that lucky haha. So it's going in one direction, then it changes direction rapidly like a zig zag way in the distance, and starts coming in my direction, when it flies over it's just a plane, loud to, only the whole shape of the plane looked illuminated. Then I was just left confused lol
