The naga of indochina

For thousands of years there have been tales of massive 60 ft long or better serpents in the rivers of indo-china In the mekong river delta they have been spotted by, policemen, fishermen, and the military. The stories are told as far back as the Mahabaratta, yet officially they do not exist. However with the discovery of a giant species of stingray in 1990 is it really so farfetched?

Stories of massive snakes have been told in this region for countless generations, considering that this river system is home to two previously unknon types of giant biology (the above m,entioned stingray and a massive giant catfish)

Why not a snake?

Interesting piece, i personally lived in s.e. asia for several years and believe this may be possible.
Most creatures we are used too seeing in temperate climes are generally larger in the tropics.
The tropics seem to be condusive too growth.
However, homosapians of the tropical variety, tend to be smaller than there counterparts in cooler climates. ???????????????????????????

It could be true, but it would have to eat alot...so what could fill it for a LONG time?

The 15-meter (49.21 feet) long, 447-kilogram (985 pound) snake was captured in Jambi province in Sumatera island last year but only recently put on public display.

Seeing what they find in and around habited area's over there, who knows what size snakes there are in the unexplored parts of the jungles?

49.21 feet is the biggest measured. So 60 feet could be posible to say the least.

Not to mention the giant stingray and giant catfish that are known to live in the mekong. Id say these would provide a pretty good food source.

Discovery in Scandinavia is airing a pretty good show on the Naga... It has a few video-sequences, but nothing 'out of the ordinary'.

Personally, I just think its big snakes...
