Well, I hope you are wrong, but it is a monumental task to dislodge these entrenched politicians. Your quote illustrates it perfectly! Allen Boyd is despised by those 'in the know', but with his huge economic war chest, his committee appointments, his party support, and his name recognition and press time from terms past, it is very likely that the laymen will come out and vote for him without knowing any better.

These days it is all about marketing and sound bites. Voting record or poor character don't really matter as long as you can afford to put out plenty of good marketing for yourself.

Still, I hope you are wrong, and I hope this fall has a bunch of surprises in store!
