I'm sure it was done innocently, since he has such a high profile as an orator, but is it a subliminal way of social engineering? A liberal is literally the icon for mudslinging? May I suggest a more appropos icon, Karl Rove.

we have a winner!

curme do you have any complaints over the use of clintons picture used as the icon for the people forum on BTS?

stands to reason if you feel carville is somehow being used to negatively portray dems in a bad light then certainly clinton being used in another forum titled people would place dems in a good light, thus equallity each other out.

mountain, molehill.

my work is done here.

edited for this...

better yet why dont we use both? or maybe a picture of carville and his wife??? even more fitting IMO. they're on opposite ends of the spectrum. or have they split up over "irreconsilable differences"??? lol

I've never visited BTS. I've heard about it, o but it really doesn't seem like my kind of place. You guys are good for serious discussion, but I really don't want to hang out with you guys and discuss soccer. We have subliminal images everyday thrown at us, why is it so bizzare to admit that we all succumb to a level of programming without even knowing it?

EDIT: Typos

Well, here's an icon anyone could get behind,

Or is there a problem because she isn't ethnic enough. Looks like everyones Grandma to me, but that isn't representative of the Pit.

well we cant be blamed if you choose to think a picture has a hidden meaning. we dont give you the meaning, you give yourself the meaning we couldnt do this for you if we wanted to.

however. i'm a reasonable guy. how about we use this picture instead???? i'm sure it wont offend you in the slightest.

is that more to your liking??? we deeply apologize if you feel we have defamed the angelic james carville.

Carville was selected because he comes across as really enjoying intense political debate without holding grudges and taking things personal. His approach is more a model, than using him as any token of any type. (sheesh)

I personally don't like the guy. I don't like Rove either, but they are both very good at what they do, and I respect that about both of them, but I still don't like them. But what I am talking about is the iconography that has been assigned to certain segments of our society. If we had a "Crime" forum, would there be an icon of a black man? I was just asking a question. That's what some people do on these types of forums. Thank you SO, I was just curious. (sheesh)

then whats the point?

are you EVER happy about anything?

you dont like either of them but you're complaining about what exactly? i made a suggestion for the new icon of the forum and you didnt even say if you liked it. gee whiz, noone wins with you.

if you have some form of moral or social indignation you want to let out we have a rant forum for that. thats right we arent good enough for you to "hang around with" over on BTS. my mistake.

you dont seem like a happy character at all. what gives?

Are you so shallow that you have to post such tripe? If you don't have anything intelligent to add, please stop posting so you can get that ATS e-mail or whatever.

Take a look, dude. I don't need anything that you subscribe. I'm insulted by your attempt to get attention of the people that run this site. BLOW, don't need you, sorry that this is the opinion, just listening to your words, they suck..I also know that you won't give it up. Later.

Or do your questions burn with the same acidic bitter complaining nature of your posts and threads?

If you dont like the icon dont look at it and get over your likes and dislikes Im sure no one here gives two hoots or a holler.

Stop trying to increase board drama were all stocked up here.

I swear, if it is possible to make a cotton-pickin' farkin liberal whiner happy, I have no earthly idea how to do it!

curme, you may not like James Carville, but I certainly do. Mr. Carville does not subscribe to my way of thinking, as I subscribe to logic, the constitution and Natural Law (God's law), and he is a liberal Democrat, but I appreciate his ability to manipulate the conversation and hijack it with both passion and persuasion, and I find Mr. Carville to be the epitome of political argument.

You are correct in your possible assertion that he has no place in logical political discussion, but still, allow us to show a little reverance for a debating master, will you?

BTW, it has been brought to my attention that the first line of the above post is flame-baiting. I assure you, it was in no way an attempt to bring on a flame war. It was an attempt at humor.
Yes, I know, my humor never carries over to the computer in any shape or form resembling successful. I apologize for my inability at being funny in front of the keyboard. I shall practice more, and use the laughter icon when I do.
