IMO, people need to change before the cars do. If gas cost was not an issue, there would be a size war with ever increasing car/truck sizes untill
everyone had a rubber tracked tank. People as a whole need to be more aware of other drivers and stop that damn texting and fooling about.
A cars weight is a large waster of gas. If you have a 40MPG car and double its weight, its now a 10MPG car, not just 20MPG like one would think. I
could make a small car right now that would get about 80-100MPG and cost about $600, it would have no real frame or A/C, but it could have heat.
However, as it stands, there is a social stigma/hive mind when it comes to really small cars, its either a motor bike or a car, no inbetweens.
If a process could be discovered to turn water into 100% hydrogen peroxide using the sun, we would be set. H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) could be used as a
high energy density battery AND be used in high power turbines. Its not as energy dense as gas, but its better then Li-ion.
