One has to realize that the Police deal with this business day in and day out AND are rewarded by the number of people they arrest and eventually
prosecute.
That's the business they are in.
The reason why you shouldn't talk to the police is that they understand how the system works towards their objectives, which is to arrest and
eventually prosecute people.
Its similar to talking to any other professional.
You don't question what your Doctor tells you, for he is more knowledgeable on the subject of medicine.
Or even your Mechanic explaining the best way in which to repair your car, for he also knows more about the subject matter than you do.
The reason why you shouldn't speak to the Police is due to the simple fact that everything you say will be used against your case in a court of law
but on the contrary, that same information CANNOT be used to your benefit and will be deemed as Hearsay by the Judge in the same court of Law.
This is the reality of our legal system.
The Lawyer even points out that in 25% of the DNA Exoneration cases, innocent defendants made incriminating statements leading to their own
convictions !
This is the entire purpose of the 5th Amendment who's basic function is to protect innocent men who otherwise might be ensnared by ambiguous
circumstances.
