Their employees probably don't need welfare.... Why would yu want another company to move out of the country? Even if they get their way and taxes are lowered that is still more than they would pay our gov't in taxes from ANOTHER country.

Can anyone confirm Koch brothers are polluters, or is it a matter of newyorker spinning this for political brownie points.

The article is well-researched and well-written. The expose is astounding. ...it's too bad the title focuses on Obama - cuz that's NOT the main message of the article at all.

Why has government limited corporate liability? Do you think corporations wrote the law.

People think elected officials run the government - but politicians are almost totally dependent on career bureaucrats (who have their own loyalties and allegiances) to make things happen.

Let's say you win elected office. You hope to remain truthful and to the point. First of all, how did u get elected? Who gave you the millions you needed for your campaign?

Second, you want airtime, but you can't get it without the support of mostly hardcore, and supposedly conservative, radio/news media.

If a politician hopes to hold office....he has to go the through the corporations to get there.

If you want to kill a snake...you take his head...not his tail....

These brothers come from a family of hard workers who did this amazing thing called save and sacrifice... They had to rebuild after they where destroyed nearly at first by well meaning protectionist such as those you are endeared to. Next in order to make it daddy did what he had to. Why? because fearful dogs decided not to let them in... (remember libertarians do believe in dueling as part of a social check)

Now after another generation has made it and raised the game up. Waa police show up... Of course if I had money I would not want someone telling me I had to share... It is like a police officer showing up and demanding you hand over five hundred dollars or you go to jail. Its only a tax, Or its for the little children, will the thiefs please make up their maind. These men are great Americans and I hope they take down BOTH parties this next election. All animals (remember we are still animals) change their environment to suit their purpose... Look at an ant colony, or beavers building a damn... If you think I am wrong I want you to go outside and find an ant hill. Stick your hand into it and pull out the queen. Let her know that she is dis-poling her local environment. She is building structures with out the proper permits. also she has not done any environmental impact studies to see if her or her workers are having a negative affect on the local ecosystem.

While there dont forget to attempt to educate the workers that they can form a union and go on strike.

Listen you can not live into todays world and claim that you yourself do not contribute negatively to the ecosystem. I can prove it. look at the piece of equipment your using to read this..... your carbon footprint just got a little bigger shame on you...

The last thing we need is more laws... That solution has failed to work, 12 times out of 10... They will use the laws if they maintain control to say it is the mandate of the people. Afterall in texas you have to have insurance, registration, and inspection before you even consider the cost of gas... I would love to see a democratic strategy that made sense when it came to the pocket book that does not end in.. Well a few people will pay a little more...

In closing of my little rant, I believe it is important to remember the last person who insisted he to had a plan for change... His like the democrats was based on hate as well

The problem REALLY started when our country, the people we elected to go to DC, to look after OUR best interests, passed NAFTA and these other "FREE" trade agreements.

I know here, where I live, NAFTA KILLED the fruit industry here.

In these other countries, were we now have this NAFTA "free trade agreement", they can use all kinds of pesticides on the fruit that they sell to the US, which are illegal to spray on the fruit in the US, and sell their fruit here in the US at a lot cheaper price because of it.

Citrus owners, here in Fl., have to spray their trees numerous times a season to keep their fruit "healthy"/eye appealing, so that the consumer will buy it, in these other countries, that we have this "free trade agreement" with, they can use these pesticides, which are illegal in the US, once a year.

Because of that, these other countries can sell the fruit to the US, far cheaper than our own citrus growers here in the US, can sell it here even in our own country.

Free trade with other countries is VERY unfair if both parties don't abide by the same rules.

I like your response would you mind finding a few more instances and post it here. I had glossed over that part in my mind not meaning to. It is a very valid point.

Not only tariffs but the rules governing production in competing countries.

Should a tarring be raised to force matching prices in an economy based on the cost of us regulations versus absence of regs in foreign country.
