If U.S really takes Taiwan as its ally,Why U.S extorts money from Taiwan?

As we all know

Taiwan's cabinet has approved a budget of $18.2 billion for the purchase of "top-of-the-line" U.S. weaponry.

These weaponry include 388 patriot missiles and several submarines.

Per missile is worth 35 million US dollors( euqal to F-16).Per U.S's 70's old submarine will cost 1 billion U.S dolloes or more.

Taiwan will get these weaponary after 8-10 years(not now),maybe after 10-20 years,but they must pay these money now!

I guess that U.S has already foreseen that China will handle Taiwan before 2010,so U.S is hastening to snatch money from Taiwan.

The U.S. uses Taiwan to make political statements to
China. Basically, by signing weapon deal agreements,
the U.S. is telling China they are in it for the long haul.
It is always expensive when you mix finances and politics.

Taiwan can not withstand an all out Chinese attack even
if the U.S. tries to defend it, The U.S. can not get enough
troops there and Taiwan is an Island, it would be suicide.
The U.S. would probably use it's Navy and Airforce at first
but then use tactical Nukes to make the Chinese back off.

I think the Chinese would sink a few U.S. Cbg's and then want
to talk. Scary times......

I really think that this is one situation that the US should stay out of. China would look at this as interference in it's internal affairs. It would get VERY nasty.

Taiwan can not withstand an all out Chinese attack even
if the U.S. tries to defend it, The U.S. can not get enough
troops there and Taiwan is an Island, it would be suicide.
The U.S. would probably use it's Navy and Airforce at first
but then use tactical Nukes to make the Chinese back off.

If China use tactical Nukes first to Taiwan,what will U.S do?

It is a very interesting thing to discuss....

You know,Now China have over 600 missiles which can carry tactical Nuke warheads are aiming at Taiwan,so...

China has already expressed anger at the US for supplying radar systems to Taiwan.

BBC:
China has denounced a proposed US sale of advanced radar equipment to Taiwan.

At the same time that they're selling radar to Taiwan, the US stepped up and blocked the sale of Radar systems to China.

The Bush administration blocked the sale of an advanced radar system to China and might purchase at least one of the stealth aircraft-detecting systems to offset the loss, U.S. and European officials said.
China had sought to buy several high-technology Vera radar from a Czech Republic manufacturer in the past five months, said officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

I think if China used tactical nukes the U.S. could do
very little about it without responding and some cases
tit for tat and in some cases pre-emptive such as air
defense targets and command and control. Most
Chinese communication is fiber optic so the U.S.
would have to know where the lines are buried.

There are new or not so new scalar weapons which
could be used to mimmick natural disasters and such
which is probably what is going on now with the weather.
Emp devices would also probably be used as would
microwave weapons.

In any case, Great Britain lost the U.S. (in theory anyway)
because of the distance overseas and the time it took to
re-enforce it's troops. If the Oil situation continues....the
U.S. and the rest of the world will not be able to afford war.
Maybe high oil prices do have a silver lining.
