Damaging the damage control

The mainstream news in Canada has gone silent on the oilspill. BP is doing a shockingly good job at damage control. I want people to know that this is still the beginning. Oil infused water is coming up on beaches everywhere in the gulf. The size of this thing seems to be hidden from the public.

We should ban Corexit worldwide!

Is there any real good reason to add the Corexit? When I first heard of the spill I thought damn, thats harsh, at least it can be scraped off the surface. Now there sinking it I'm like... how are you gonna get that out?
