This law in no way is going to make it illegal to plant seeds at home like all the fear mongers are trying to make us believe....

Remember these words ten years from now when the FDA agent shows up to cart you away for giving a tomato to a neighbor. S510 May Mean 10 Years in Prison for Farmers

Ten years ago when I first started looking into this mess we were only concerned about having to put rfid tags on our animals and report their movement.

At that time some warned that tagging was just the start. They were correct.

You seem to think there is no basis for warnings:
HERE is the basis:
Clear intent by the US government to copy the EU and international laws and regs.

“In a sweeping move that has garnered surprisingly little attention this week the United States and the European Union have signed up to a new transatlantic economic partnership that will see regulatory standards “harmonized” and will lay the basis for a merging of the US and EU into one single market, a huge step on the path to a new globalized world order.” The BBC reported (news.bbc.co.uk...) from the Summit in Washington on Monday: stopspp.com...

International Harmonization

The harmonization of laws, regulations and standards between and among trading partners requires intense, complex, time-consuming negotiations by CFSAN officials. Harmonization must simultaneously facilitate international trade and promote mutual understanding, while protecting national interests and establish a basis to resolve food issues on sound scientific evidence in an objective atmosphere. Failure to reach a consistent, harmonized set of laws, regulations and standards within the freetrade agreements and the World Trade Organization Agreements can result in considerable economic repercussions....

HERE is what happened to SEED in the UK

In the EU, there is now a list of 'official' vegetable varieties. Seed that is not on the list cannot be 'sold' to the 'public' To keep something on the list costs thousands of pounds each year...Hundreds of thousands of old heirloom varieties (the results of about eleven thousand years of plant breeding by our ancestors) are being lost forever, due to some rather poorly drafted EU legislation. www.realseeds.co.uk... & www.euroseeds.org/pdf/ESA_03.0050.1.pdf"

HERE is what happened to Farming in the UK
January 8 2008 ~In the UK Defra has dropped the word 'farming' from its title. "Defra and the Treasury's joint vision document of 2006 presented to the EU argued that supports for farming should be completely abandoned.." www.warmwell.com...

TSHTF may happen sooner that people think.

Farmers are VERY VERY angry.
There are 2.2million farms that the government knows of and a heck of a lot more who refused to answer the last Ag census.

Of the 2.2 million 1.7 million are small family owned farms. Very few are large corporate farms.

The average age of a farmer is over 50 years of age. Most are Nam or Gulf War vets and want to be left alone.

I think you get the picture.

I for one would NOT want to be a USDA or FDA agent in the coming years. The USDA has really riled farmers with harassment for the lately and they have had enough.

More fear mongering. I'm still waiting for someone, such as yourself, to quote sections of this law to back up your claims. The entire bill is available online, page by page. Stop repeating propaganda you are reading, and cite specific parts of this bill.
