Ya, if it was one of us ordinary citizens, we would have been fired, fined, dragged into court and thrown into prison a long time ago. Congress gets away with it because they are "Congress", the elite, and they believe that they have nothing more in common with us than they do with white mice, until election time of course.

And this is why Charlies fellow members of Congress, especially Democrats are not very amused with him right now. They would love nothing more than to just see him go away and leave the rest of them to get on with the business of getting their own criminal asses re-elected.

Faced with more than decimation in the November elections, Democrats would do well to pay this guy to sit down and shut up. If he was any kind of a man, he would do the honorable thing and resign for the good of his party. But he is not an honorable man, he is Charlie Rangel.

I actually heard the speech on CSPAN.
