Here's a side by side comparison image I made of two rigs.

The one on the left is from the photo referenced in the 3rd post on the first page of this thread. The full photo shows the burning remains of the Deepwater Horizon rig on the right and this other rig on the left.

The one on the right is from the youtube video "A Tale of Two Wells". That includes a segment from CBS 60 minutes with an interview with a DWH rig worker. Although CBS didn't come right out and say this is an image of the previous Transocean drilling rig,they did imply it by saying, while this image was on screen, "That well was abandoned."

So, I do not have positive ID on either rig. But they certainly don't look to be the same to me.

The rig on the right in the side-by-side comparison image two posts above is the Deepwater Horizon rig which burned and sank. This photo, used in the CBS segment which is contained in that Youtube video, is taken from the Transocean website:

They also have a picture of the Transocean Marianas rig there, which is the rig named in the MMS document as the one that would be doing the drilling.
