Why hello everyone!

After about a year and a half of simply reading, rather savoring, all the amazing content ATS has to offer I finally decided to become a member myself.

Ever since I can remember I've always thought out of the box, often having different views than the people around me. While this may have been an instigator for many fights between my siblings and relatives, it's always been a passion to not only understand the meat and potatoes of a subject but to also research and understand the plate on which the meat and potatoes sits.

I'm very content having my own opinion of things, even if some people may view my opinions as absurd. I do my best to see not only my point of view, but to understand the point of view of others as well.

A little bit about myself, I'm 19, a CPT (certified phlebotomy technician), which means I draw blood from patients. I do this full time and I'm also a Host/Bus Boy part time at a local restaurant. I'm currently attending a local community college pursing my RN (registered nurse), I hope to be graduated and a licensed nurse by the Summer of 2011. Eventually I hope to continue my education and enter either an RN to MD program, or obtain my NP (nurse practitioner), if we survive 2012 that is
! In my downtime I enjoy browsing the Internet, playing video games (I'm an old school and new age Nintendo fan, Zelda anyone?), I'm an avid swimmer and was part of a private swim team from 1996-2009.

I find almost all alternative topics interesting, along with different views of the mainstream topics. I thoroughly enjoy anything that has to do with Aliens or UFO's, especially Ancient Astronaut Theory, Doomsday theories also tickle my fancy. I'm also very interested in String Theory and anything that has to do with quantum physics. But in all honesty if I read something and it really makes me think, or alters the way I feel about a subject then I'll definitely do my research and find some good topics to follow and learn more about it.

Well that is basically me
I look forward to posting, learning, and possibly even making a couple friends.

Why thank you : )
I'm really excited to actually become a member of the ATS community rather than just browsing and never actually giving my opinion/input on any of the topics.

Judging by your intro you'll do very well on ATS.

Im not sure how you handle working with all that blood but im sure the experience will come in useful!

Have fun!

Working with blood doesn't even phase me anymore. When I was going to school it was very interesting, but never gross
. The only thing that bothered me was that I looked like a junkie because in school we never used the fake arm or oranges, from the first day of class we drew from each other, and I have good veins so I was getting drawn almost 15 times a day, four days a week.

It's true vampires do exist, although my favorite was from a Spanish patient who called me 'la chupacabra' which I guess would be calling them a goat but I thought it was pretty creative.
