Could MI6 Have Killed Bin Laden?

It’s been over two years now since any one has seen the infamous Osama bin laden. The last time was in September 2007 and since then there has only been audio recordings. There have also been numerous high profile accusations claiming that Bin Laden is dead. In this thread i intend to outline what i think may have happened to him. Some of this probably won’t be new to you’s, you might have hard this theory before or you might even have you own theory. Feel free to contribute.

The last time anyone seen bin laden in the media was supposedly September 7th 2007. I say supposedly because there are a number of inconsistencies with this video for example in the video it appears that bin laden has trimmed his bread and it is also darker in colour, his nose is also visibly broader. Aside form his appearance there are also a number of freezes in the video which are followed by references to current affairs this may suggesting that this video has been in some way edited(1).

Now if that video is believed to be a fake that means the last time we can confirm that bin laden was seen by the media was October 4th 2004(2). Interestingly in this video bin laden is wearing the same cloths as in the 2007 video further evidence that the 2007 could very well be a fake. I have found very little evidence to suggest that the 2004 video is a fake so it leads me to believe that the last time we can say we definitely seen Bin Laden was 2004.

Now for an organisation that relies so heavily on the media for propaganda this has to be looked over with a suspicious eye. It would appear that bin laden has not been seen of since 2004. Now I know what you’re thinking “what about all those recordings”. Simple there fakes or pre recordings I make this comment because it seems strange to me that bin laden would go to the effort of making a recording and getting it to a news station without getting caught. When if he was to spend just a little more money. He could send a video message which would have an even bigger effect and boost the morale of his fighters scattered throughout the globe as well as proving that he is still alive. Now yes there are a number of different technical reasons why these recordings could be faked, but they have to be looked on case by case.

This is my one of my reasons for believing that bin laden is dead however I do have other reasons for this belief as well as my own theory about how he died. The fist reasoning behind this belief come from Australia when Dr Clive Williams, director of terrorism studies at the Australian National University claimed in 2006 that he had evidence form India that bin laden was dead(3). I must confess though that this evidence is rather difficult to confirm although Dr Williams is considered a terrorism expert the evidence have never been publicly disclosed

On 23 September 2006, the French newspaper L'Est Républicain quoted a report from the French secret service the Direction générale de la sécurité extérieure (DGSE) stating that Osama bin Laden had died in Pakistan on August 23rd 2006(4), after contracting a case of typhoid fever that paralyzed his legs and eventually resulted in his death. The French paper claimed that this intelligence had come from the Saudis. After the article was relayed there were a flurry of denials about the report from the Americans, French and Pakistanis. However the story took another twist when Nic Robertson a reporter for CNN claimed that he had received information from a anonymous source inside Saudi intelligence confirming that they had heard that bin laden has caught some kind of water borne disease but could not confirm if he was alive or dead.

Then in November 2007 perhaps the most controversial claim that bin laden had been killed was made by Benazir Bhutto. In a interview with David Frost for the BBC she said that Omar sheikh had murdered bin laden(5).

From here on in I have my very own nice little conspiracy theory of what really has happened to Bin laden. First of all let’s look at who Omar sheikh is. He was born in Brittan in 1972 and attended a private boarding school in England then between the ages of 14 to 16 he went to the most expensive private school in Pakistan and studied at the London school of economics. So this guy is highly educated and comes from a very wealthy back ground. To make this a little more interesting it was claimed in Pervez Musharraf, in his book In the Line of Fire that while at university Sheikh was recruited by MI6.

Then in 1994 almost the year he left university he went on be involved in the kidnapping of 4 tourists British and American’s in India. All were subsequently realised unharmed and it is reasonable to assume that sheikh was recruited by MI6 to act as there man on the inside to ensure the safety of the hostages. Because of his involvement Sheikh was sentenced to prison but was released early in 1999 in exchange for hostages(6) this could be further evidence that he was helping the security services.

In 2002 Sheikh beheaded investigative journalist Daniel Pearl who at the time was investigating possible links between Richard Read, Al Qaeda and Pakistani intelligence (ISI)(7). It is again reasonable to assume that this was the work of the intelligence services most likely this was an ISI assassination plot because they did not want anyone to find that link and it may even have been backed by Sheikh’s handlers at MI6 due to the British connection with Richard Read.

It is there for my belief that as strange as it may sound Sheikh was a MI6 deep cover asset inside the Islamic terrorist community and he was ordered to assassinate bin laden and that is what Benazir Bhutto meant when she said he had murdered bin laden. Further to this i think he killed in some time in 2006 and this accounts for the reports that came from French intelligence, CNN and Dr Clive Williams. In addition to this even Benazir Bhutto’s widower Persidant Asif Ali Zardari admits that Bin Laden could be dead as no trace of him can be found(8).

However that dose raise the question why haven’t the security services or bin laden’s followers confirmed his death. Well for the security services to admit that Sheikh killed bin laden could bring out that they were also involved in the kidnapping attempt and also possibly the killing of Daniel Pearl. For Al Qaeda to admit his death would be damaging for them as bin laden being alive is a victory for them because it shows a weakness in the west because they cannot catch him.

There for it is my conclusion that bin laden has been assassinated by MI6. I am still open to the possibility and it could indeed be that he is still alive although it does seem ever unlikely. Similarly i am also open to other theories on his death, I have read that he may have been killed in Tora Bora in 2001 or that he was murdered by somebody else.

Thanks for that very detailed and constructive criticism. Considering I am saying he was killed in 2006 and don’t quite follow.

Bin Laden needed dialysis. There is no way he lived in the caves of afghanistan for 6 years after 9/11.

He was dead within a year, they just needed to keep him alive as long as possible to keep a boogeyman around.

Check this link out, it has a copy of his death announcement from a saudi newspaper in Dec 01.

I have read most biographies about Bin Laden and they all say that is a myth, granted in the end the usually say is still alive. Actually the leading theory on is death is typhoid

I read it when researching this thread, it’s the first thing that comes up when you Google “bin landed” and “dead”. In any case any claim that Bin Laden was on dialysis has to be wrong based on my own research.

There are a number of conflicting reports regarding the death of OBL. If you think he was killed in 2001 form kidney failure then go for it, but just read one of his biographies.

First things first, bin Laden has never needed dyalsis. This has been an ongoing hoax that started shortly after the 9/11 attacks and has been proven wrong many times.

Some well thought work you put forth except for the fact the Umar Sheikh has been in custody since 2002 on charges of murdering Daniel Pearl but it was actually Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who had murdered Pearl. As to the 2 basic points you made the first of Umar Sheikh being an MI6 assest this has never been proven right but has also never been proven wrong and he may very well have been an assest. The point of bin Laden dying of typhoid in 2006 is plausable if you throw out the reports as late as 2009 that he is in Chitral or a statement by a detainee that bin Laden was seen in northern Afghanistan in November of 2009. Also the report from Nic Robertson stated that Suadi inteigence had reports that bin Laden had a water bourne illness but they had no confirmation that is was typhoid or that he had died. The Suadi's still believe he is alive and have stated as late as Feb. of this year that they would not be a part of the peace process in Afghanistan unless the Taliban sever ties with extremist and hand over bin laden.

With that being said, I think it is still very plausable that he may have died in 2006 from an illness, although I do not believe that is the case.

Either way I am pretty sure he isn't around anymore.

Excellant post! They are looking for Bin Laden in Pakistan. Hope they took a shovel with them.

This further raises the question, who the hell is the enemy? You can't declare war on a tactic (terrorism) so who are we actually fighting? Al Qaeda? If Bin Ladin died even last year that so called terrorist group would have been sunk by now. A small gang leader died, so what? Now what do we do? I guess roam a deserted desert for a few more years and make sure nobody tries to raid our oil. What a joke Bin Laden is/was. Just another fear mongering tool used by CNN. You don't think he thrived off of all the media attention? Whether or not he is dead, we don't want to say, because he is a symbol for the enemy and the enemy can't die until we blow up the U.S. Bank Tower and invade Iran.
