Glen Beck SHOULD BE FIRED. And both Beck and Breitbart should be SUED for all they're worth. End of discussion.

Utter and total crap. Beck didn't even air the footage that night and Sharrod was fired long before O'reilly did. Why doesn't this article mention MSNBC's morning Joe airing the footage?

Answer, because its yet another political propaganda piece trying to capitalize on this story.

EDIT: Also, MM is a left wing propaganda machine started by Soros and Hillary Clinton. Its hilarious how the media completely covers this fact up and portrays them as an objective media watch dog.

ABC Skips Label for Liberal Media Matters During Shootout With 'Conservative' Andrew Breitbart

Conservative journalist Andrew Breitbart and Eric Boehlert of the liberal organization Media Matters debated each other on Wednesday's Good Morning America. But ABC only identified the ideology of the right-leaning guest. Boehlert was simply the "senior fellow with the watchdog group Media Matters for America."

Video: www.eyeblast.tv...

You have a ton of truth in your post. Here, let me add a dose more.

Fox News did NOT, I repeat, did NOT talk one iota about the events that first day, until the evening news shows with O'rielly etc. This was AFTER she had already been forced to resign, AFTER the events of the day. And you are right, Glenn Beck never said one whisper about this the first night. All this hate and vitriol and it is completely uncalled for, and so obviously misplaced.

ALL of the events that played out in the MEDIA - were the Left wingers. LOL. How is that for irony?

Yes, CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC - the Laughabet soup of Lamestream Media were the ones that pulled the Presidential puppet strings - and all Breitbart did was *prove* that the media is controlling the President, not that he is controlling them.

Fox News and Glenn Beck? They rubbed in the lefts' face, and presented the facts - the FACTS behind the *rest* of the story.

And now, we have the members of Journolist wringing their hands in nervousness over their blatant remarks about how Fox News cannot be "controlled by peer pressure".

Misior, I should have known. Dude I swear you must be bi-polar. Sometimes you get it right and sometimes you come out of left field.

1. Obama must be a freakin coward to have canned her without getting to the point. Wait. He is a coward.

How dare I besmirch the messiah?

2. I listen to the radio pretty much daily and for long periods. By the time I had heard anything, they were first reporting her being fired AFTER the fact.

This lady is being used as a tool by the messiah and company as a smoke screen. Period.

You want to ride around on Barry's jock strap, go ahead. there is no accounting for being a sycophant for the POS in the white house.... unless your just trolling.

Ok. I bit.

Did I hear correctly this morning on the radio that "they" admitted the quote was taken out of context and that they were sorry and that they were re-instating the woman?

Haven't had my first cup of.

While i understand your angst, I think it is misplaced. There isn't a "war" for the minds of the American people. If you look at the demographics for the networks you mention, you will see that the only ones watching are the ones already toeing the line for their respective party. There are not any middle-of-the-road Americans watching Glen Beck, nor are they watching Olbermann - those harpies are out there for the specific purpose of catering to the far-right and far-left constituents.

In real-world numbers, their ratings are very, very low when compared to more mainstream 'hard news' programs.

The problem with the recent flap over Sherrod, is that a piece presented by an uber-right-wing hatemonger was (for reasons that sociologists can better explain) picked up by the mainstream networks and from there - it took of like wildfire.

Philosophical Journalism Observation Follows....

Back about 10, even 5 years ago - the vast majority of people turned to the news networks for their information, and the blogosphere was where people went to for opinion pieces and information that specifically catered to their political leanings. The onus was on the networks, not the bloggers, to check facts and vet claims before going to air. It is journalism 101.

Fast forward to today, and the table has turned practically 180 degrees.

You don't have to wait too long to see blogs like Drudge Report or Huffington Post used as sources for mainstream news pieces. By-and-large, the "A-line" blogs do a pretty good job of vetting stories, but it's still generally considered a free-for-all on the internet news blogs. Even the two mentioned above rushed online with pieces devoted to the Sherrod video, without even bothering to ask for, or wait for the whole video to be presented in-context.

The Sherrod story gained such traction online that the MSM outlets felt that they had to follow suit, or they'd be seen as being behind the times.

In short, the stalwarts of hard-news (the broadcasters) sank down to the wild-west antics of the blogs and abandoned their journalistic standards in the name of being "on the frontline" of a breaking story. This is how Sherrod lost her job, and why many Americans are left feeling like total fools for allowing themselves to be snookered by a viral-video that should have been confined to the moronic playpens of the fringe newsatainment websites.

And it won't be the last time, either....

This isn't a war, but it should be a reality check for everyone - especially the networks.

Wrong. This was published on FoxNews.com on the 19th. It is interesting to see that the article is dated the 20th in the byline, but look at the URL - clear as day - the 19th.

Keith Olbermann makes me vomit in my mouth a little. I think it is a war, but not between the particular factions - against us.

Everyone has lost their freaking mind and totally bought into the race baiting that is meant to be a wedge issue that polarizes citizens who otherwise have common interests in direct opposition to the PTB.

I think Eric Holder had it exactly right when he proclaimed us a nation of cowards who cannot openly discuss race without further causing racial tensions - because we are so perfectly played by the two party system.

Thus you get Breitbart and Fox News (defacto agents of the right) banging the drum on racial issues and, as Rachel Maddow (defacto agent of the left) so succinctly put it, stirring up Negrophobia (easily substituted with Latinophobia) in the hopes that those fears will over-ride common interests such as economics, education and health-care.

As long as we're fighting each other, we can't fight them and stand up to reclaim our heritage of civil rights and small government.

But yeah, as far as Olbermann's (defacto agent of the left) characterization of Brietbart, Fox and Obama, he was spot on.

To the OP... Careful with that partisanship, it WILL come back to bite you. The important to keep in mind is that the lamestream media are equal opportunity liars and propagandists. The only thing that would prevent a reasonable person from immediately recognizing it would be unreasonable partisanship. They are their to divide us, distract us and progandize us into believing that government, or more specifically, one governing party, stands for what you believe. REAL Newsflash: THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU!

Time to drop ALL partisan pretenses and start focusing on the core purpose of government as enumerated in the Constitution. There is no justifiable excuse for disragrding this document; no matter how carefully crafted the politicians arguments are. Do not buy te propaganda and start demanding a government that is acountable to the people.

Thanks for reading my rant!

AFTER she resigned.

The Agriculture Department announced Monday, shortly after FoxNews.com published its initial report on the video, that Sherrod had resigned.

This was, however, NOT *talked about* on air, until that night. So no, it is not wrong.

Try as you want, Fox cannot take the fall for this one, no one but this administration and the puppet string masters at the backpeddaling MSM can.

"SHERROD: Oh, I can tell you, that was Cheryl Cook, the deputy undersecretary. She called me and said -- because she called me, and I said, "Cheryl, I've got a three and a half hour ride to get into Athens." She called me a second time, "Where are you now?" I said, "I'm just going through Atlanta."

She called me again and I said, "I'm at least 45 minutes to an hour from Athens." She said, "Well, Shirley, they want you to pull over to the side of the road and do it because you're going to be on Glenn Beck tonight."

TONY HARRIS (host): Wow. So the administration pressured you out?

SHERROD: Yes.

HARRIS: How do you feel about that?

SHERROD: I don't feel good about it, because I know I didn't do anything wrong. And I know during my time at USDA, I gave it all I had.

I worked when I didn't feel like it. I pushed the staff to get out there in places they had not been into before. "

Finger-pointing at Fox in Shirley Sherrod firing

By Howard Kurtz
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, July 22, 2010; 8:31 AM

But for all the chatter -- some of it from Sherrod herself -- that she was done in by Fox News, the network didn't touch the story until her forced resignation was made public Monday evening, with the exception of brief comments by O'Reilly. After a news meeting Monday afternoon, an e-mail directive was sent to the news staff in which Fox Senior Vice President Michael Clemente said: "Let's take our time and get the facts straight on this story. Can we get confirmation and comments from Sherrod before going on-air. Let's make sure we do this right."

The most interesting part is, the NAACP had the whole tape the entire time. Brietbart did not edit the tape, they received it the way it was published, and pursued the tape in it's entirety. The fault of Brietbart was airing the tape before they had investigated the story better.

More interesting, I think, would be to find out *who* sent the tape - in this edited version - to Brietbart. I think that would be the telling of the *real* story here.

O'Rilley tapes his program at 5:00pm and on the 19th, he said she needed to be fired. By the time it aired at 8:50, she was gone. So while factually, your statement is correct, technically - it is not. Also, it should be mentioned that Megyn Kelly did a piece on it earlier in the day where she called out Sherrod as racist.

There is enough blame to go around - including Fox.

i would like to see a super round table of delegates from all the networks host a show on all issues effecting we the viewers---with genius & credible moderators in the respective fieilds of the discussion topics narrating---and let it ripp---lets see which network rates the highest in getting it right and being honest about the facts no prejudice, no bi-partisinship. who else would like to watch and learn on such a program??? it does seem like fox news would kill to kiss the buttholes of their favorite pols--they do seem to be the least prepared, maybe because they are still in their infant stage--they do certainly act it at times, more than most!! and could those soon to be middle age female broadcasters stop wearing styles and sizes they are 10yrs past their prime-you know who im refering to, again mostly on fox, give it up girls the gig is up...skirts way too short for those thighs!!...it is weak and its cheap! ther you have it...

...So I was unable to discern anything from your little rant.. except that you're a Liberal and you don't like Conservatives.

Mmkay. Good to know.

Personally, I find it remarkable that we even stopped to listen to that womans story. Honestly. Reminds me of the Duke Lacross case, no evidence, no proof, just lies.. but did anyone stop to consider? Of course not..

Had she been white, we would have already forgotten about her, never given her a second chance to tell her story.

So you're a Liberal.. you don't like Fox, and you apparently don't like the Tea Party. Congrats. Want a cookie?

If the administration is afraid of Glen back, then it shows they have something to hide and Glen may be on to something.

Most likely now this woman will be on Glen Becks show and this will make the Gov look all that much worse when the full story hits the mainstream.

Way to go you fascists pigs in Washington, keep shooting yourselves in the foot and we wont need to get the ropes ready to get rid of you.

So OP, now that there are 5pages of people showing you exactly why you were totally wrong, will you admit it and drop it?

Or did you post this thread PURELY to troll the right wingers in hopes of getting "points" or whatever ego-driven satisfaction ??

I see you just posted. But you never retracted your comments.

You were proven wrong by dozens of members.

Are you actually going to sit there and keep a stubborn attitude and pretend you are still right?

For god's sake Im not republican or democrat, Im a outsider to you folks, and even I can see you screwed up in this thread big time.

Admit you were wrong.

If you can't, than you have no credibility anymore.

You can salvage what is left of it by simply admitting it. "OOPS I WAS WRONG THX ATS FOR SHOWING ME".

Or am I hallucinating all of this???

So you have now made the most accurate point in this thread.

Reverse Racism, stemming from those employed in this administration and those Hacks of the NAACP crowd & their Kool Drinking supporters.

You do know that the Kool Aid comment was created by racists right? And by continuing to use it only shows that you are in fact a racist, no surprise there of course.

So now calling someone a Kool Aid drinker is an act of racism.

Unbelievable!!!!

I think you've had a couple of glasses too many as it is.

Oh, and by the way, what are you going to say when Glenn Beck is proven correct. I watch him every day and he is much closer to "the truth" than any politician, of either party. The exception being Ron Paul.

Glenn's programs featuring blacks and their history as Americans going back to the Revolutionary War are classics. He's also spot on with his "Crime Inc." and the Progressive movements plan for the American people.

I think its about time you step back and notice the Republicans building the scaffold while the Democrats are preparing the noose.
