Developed: Wireless stun weapon for crowd control/vehicle disruption

Think twice before burning your bra this summer...

Several companies have developed what can summarily be called wireless stun weapons. This article from New Scientist magazine describes several. The newsworthy aspect, here, is that they are about to go on sale to police departments in Europe and the US:

The most interesting model, I think, is a gun that fires a stream of ionized gas... creating an almost lightning-like effect (can you imagine seeing that in action). Due to its electrical properties, it can also stall some vehicles.


So... Just remember to wear your rubber suit next time you decide to stage a sit-in for the legalization of pot...
