Police: Car bomb in Mexican border town kills 4

(CNN) -- A car bomb killed at least four people in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, authorities said.

It was the first time a car bomb has been used to attack federal police, said the city's mayor, Jose Reyes Ferriz.

The incident happened about 8 p.m. Thursday in the city's most violent zone.

Juarez municipal police spokesman Jacinto Seguro said Friday that federal police were responding to a call that a police officer had been killed.

"When they went to check the car, there was a dead body in there, dressed up like a police officer, but it wasn't one of ours," Seguro said.

I searched and did not see anything on this situation. It sure does look like the mexican drug cartels maybe getting some outside help in their drug war with the mexican gov't. Now don't get me wrong they may have done this on their own,but this car bomb does look familiar. Could they be getting help from columbian drug cartels or even maybe a known terrorist group that utilizes car bombs in their attacks.
I can't say for sure that is the case it just seems shady, because mexican drug cartels are not known to use car bombs. There are some questions that need to be answered and hopefully it will show that their wasn't any outside help. I would love to hear some thoughts on this situation. If this is in the wrong place feel free to move it to where it belongs

Just as I said in that thread, this threat is very very real to the border states in the US and beyond. Our southern border is a porous region where rogue elements who created this disaster are free to cross as they please, and the US Government will be on the their side.

I guess that now qualifies the cartels as terrorists.

Now the US will be fighting the war against drugs and the war against terrorism in Mexico.

Expect to see the cartels defend their territory. There is a reason these cartels are considered powerful.
