Are we allowed to post download links to documentaries? Such as 1 megaupload link to download KGB UFO Files Revealed DVD...etc.

Yes, BUT there are a couple of things (as per the T&Cs) to keep in mind...

1. The DVD (or whatever the file may be) may NOT be copyrighted or illegal in any way or form.

1c.) Intellectual Property: You will not post any copyrighted material, material belonging to another person, material previously posted by you on another website nor link to any copyrighted material without providing proper attribution, as defined by The Owners, to its original source.

2. It may not post a direct link to the file, i.e. the person must be directed to a "click to download" page.

1j.) URL Links: You will not place a link on our site that initiates an automatic download oe execution of a file of any sort.

2e.) Illicit Activity: Discussion of illicit activities; specifically the use of mind-altering drugs & substances, engaging in computer hacking, promoting criminal hate, discussing sexual relations with minors, and furtherance of financial schemes and scams are strictly forbidden. You will also not link to sites or online content that contains discussion or advocacy of such material.

3. You have to give a proper description of the file and the page you are linking to.

1k.) Video links/embeds: You will not embed or post a link to a video without a reasonable description of its content and why it interests you, is germane to the topics discussed on ATS or the topic of an existing thread should you post it in a reply to an existing thread.

We are not TOO keen on file sharing sites (such as Megaupload, etc.), as many of them contain ads with nudity, malware and other “nasties”. (The moment we detect any of these on an external page via a link in a post, we remove the link.) However, file sharing sites give people a handy platform to share BIG files when there are no other options.

Thus - if the material does not break any of the T&Cs as above - I suggest you explore other alternatives before you resort to a file sharing site. For instance you can ask a friend to host to site on a local server, or you can even contact one of the administrators of ATS and ask them if they would consider sharing the file on your behalf.

Edit: Clarity
