He only has a sawn-off shotgun and is completely surrounded so I have no idea why they are asking for a 10 mile radius, very strange.

Might be a technicality they don't want seen:

I think they probably could just kill him and nobody would see it as anything other than justified, However... I still think taking his ass to jail is the best thing and I'm glad they haven't just opened fire and blown him to pieces.

If he even attempts to shoot at police now, He'll be dead.

But they know, as he's told them, he wants to be shot by cops (suicide by cop) so they are mindful of that.

I think the 10 mile exclusion is an air exclusion, not ground.
That's what's been said on the sky news website thingy.

I didn't think it was a ground/land one....

I think it's on the ground as well just going from what we can see live on sky news (the right side of the screen is the live version and the left is replayed footage)

They're all behind a police tape with police guarding them.

BTW they've literally just shown the first image of Raoul Moat right now.

Jail, Why bother putting him away for life at our cost? He will be a hero and a insparation in jail,

From experience i can tell you jail is not bad in England..

Well he fits the description that witnesses gave earlier on perfectly so it's pretty safe to assume that it's him.

Yeah but the press and public are gathered in the town centre?
And Rothbury clearly isn't 10 miles wide/long?

It said on skynews message thing that it was ground and I would say that's probably true.
It would be almost impossible to enforce this on the ground... and there are still plenty of news crews in Rothbury.

Because fortunately that's the system that we have.
We put people in prison and try and rehabilitate them...we don't just kill every criminal.

And you don't think that the guy will be a "Hero" if he goes out blazing against the cops?

I think jail is the preferable option.... He didn't go around just shooting at the public, like the other nutter.... perhaps he's just flipped and maybe he can be sorted out?

Who knows man

I see, well I could be wrong of course and that exclusion zone was just for the air like you say which isn't so bad I guess.

If that's the case then thanks for clarifying.

Also they are saying they're delivering food and water to him right now as well.

Well I'm only going by logistics really.... and logic.... It's weird that they say "An exclusion zone" on the news.... yet on the website it's an aerial exclusion zone.

Just going by the fact that they're interviewing people in the town centre and the fact cameras are still all over filming the snipers and so on, I think it must be an aerial zone only.

It is confusing mate

Yeah not the bit that says Live from Rothbury and the news reporters are still talking now.... live. And they just moved for more vehicles and so on.

These pictures are not old... the old pics are the still shots and the clips of them with tasers and so on.
