New research points to gay gene

An interesting development in an article from the New Scientist.

What hapens if they do find the "gay" gene in humans?

Will parentls be allowed to go for screening and get that gene switched off?

Where will it stop?

Well first the gay genes will probably march through town demanding their right to get married and...

It'll be treated the same as gender, hair color, etc. I had two kids recently and nobody asked me if I wanted to select the genetic traits. I don't think it'll be an issue.

I don't know why, that just read as realy camp

Yes i guess they will one day find a pedofile gene also but thats no excuse so far as i'm concerned.

a line needs to be drawn else we will have to forgive all the mass murders in history and blame it on the genes.

nature would deal with bio defects left to it's own devices but leaps in test tube engineering will put paid to that if people will pay for it.

There is no 'gay' gene. What the article states is that when a certain gene is turned off in female mice, they are no longer attracted to mating with males and try to mate with other females. Are they claiming that homosexuality and lesbianism are birth defects?

some researcher has a sense of humour, they just left the 'e' off the name of the gene....
