Ten Russian spies deported from US

Pelaez, unlike the others, is a US citizen.

But a senior US official said that as part of the deal, she agreed never to return to the US without the authorisation of the attorney general.

I dont think that if you are US citizen you should not be allowed entry back into your own country. How is this possible? In the future does this mean they start deporting people to other countries and not allowing them entry back into the US. I think they are starting a new precedent here. I for one would like a clear understanding of the legalities of this.

Interesting how Wikinews has the story stating 11 spies. Could be a simple error, but who knows these days.

PS: One of the spies, Anna Chapman, has caused a media storm for some unknown reason...

I feel sorry for the kids. The teenagers are now exiled to a country they have absolutely no ties to nor speak the language.

They were punished for the sins of their parents.

It's possible because if you're spying on the US, you're committing treason if you're a US citizen. That person can't be trusted, so why should the government allow them in? I don't think they would extend this to other people; unless they were spying on the US of course.

Russia, by the way, is deporting a Russian who was arrested for spying on them four years ago for the United States. Just so it doesn't seem like it's only America is doing this.
