LOS ANGELES – A white former transit officer was convicted of involuntary manslaughter Thursday in the videotaped shooting death of an unarmed black man on an Oakland train platform in an encounter that set off days of rioting in the city.

Here's something for all the cop bashers out there. Yes even cops go to jail. The cop wasn't charged with murder so he'll likely only get 2-4 years but it can be extended up to 14 years since a gun was used. We'll have to wait for sentencing I suppose.

This kid was no angel though.

Grant had recently been released from jail after being sentenced to 16 months for a gun possession charge filed after he ran from police and was subdued by an officer with a stun gun.
