I think its reasonable for them to put allot of man power into getting this guy because his threats make it very difficult for the police to operate safely. I just had another thought though sorry i should have put this in the OP i forgot about it. I know that the SAS have a habit of going out to major incidents to observe and advice but its usually terrorist incidents of course they could be doing more that that here. And yes i agree this guys ex was most definitely having it off with a copper but there is not way they will ever admit to it.

the only time sas gets called out in other countries is when one of there own goes off the reservetion in a public place
responce wize its not smart to let a guy like that run around calling out threats

hope he gets caught and no one is hurt

They have been sent to observe at a number of terrorist incidents and we think they may have been advising police at this incident. And he has been mutualised but it is unclear if he is alive.

Well, the BBC are saying the Police fired no shots and the suspect shot himself, so I would imagine he has (or had) some serious injuries from a self inflicted shotgun wound.

It's a sad shame, really.. The guy had a little girl and despite what he has done, she is now going to grow up without a Daddy and not knowing what he was really like, only what people will remember him for.

Surely better to have no daddy, to having a nutcase daddy.

Well and truely over the edge.

Now she has no choice.

I only say this as I have a little girl who looks up to me and I couldn't imagine the pain she'd suffer if I died, no matter the circumstances. Kids that age don't understand "good" and "bad", she'll just be missing her Dad.

I wouldn't worry about the child too much, dealing with death in the family is part of lifes experience. It's not much of a boat trip, but sooner or later you're going to have to go through with it.

I think as an adult member of the family, it would be a lot harder to take, knowing that the person you knew one day ( like Moat or Derrick Bird) went on a rampage.

If you're referring to the yellow colored weapon, it's a Tazer.

hehe I know its a tazer, just his face.

You're probably right, telling the photographer to get down.

The scene looks like the guy with the Tazer got caught off guard by the camera man. Maybe there was a flash and it caused a distraction? Not exactly something I'd like to experience during a tense Critical Incident.

This is now a rather sad story, last night we were assuming that he was alive but injured. Now it turns out he is dead, regardless of his crimes, it is a horrible thing for a little girl to bury her daddy and in circumstances like this it must be even worse.

I have started up a new thread here asking if in light of recent events all uk police should be armed.

What i heard in the last bit of film released sounds like a whole lot of automatc weapons being fired, not a shotgun.
Shot himself in several places at once did he?
At least he's off the streets......

There are so many random guesses coming out now.....automatic fire is surely one of them.

The news reporters the other night said that a lot of the "bangs" you could hear were the banging and scratching of the microphones they were using at the time, they were trying to sort the noice from those from the sounds of the firearm being fired.
