I've been working on the assumption that Cromeline's PW is hidden somewhere in the message:

captured three of the four!
you will soon be given directions to
go and pick one up, for now its
need-to-know and will stay that way
unless something comes up.
Someone will contact you soon.

I tried counting out letters using the numbers in his address (9,7,1,4,8,5) and looking at every 5th letter (as well as every 3rd and 4th) and nothing gets me into his user account. Anybody have any further ideas to pursue based on this assumption?

Per Cerberus:

It seems as he expected someone to stop by and pick it up. We did not find his FTP password for his website, but we did discover his FTP log, and it looks as though the content of his site is one massive 342 megabyte Perl script. According to the log, major changes occurred over the past four days, where it begain as only an 18 megabyte Perl script. We believe this indicates there is more to his website than meets the eye.

This seems to indicate that Cromeline is the user name, since he does have an address ([email protected]) and that something is going on there that we should definitely try to have a look at. We're being nudged that way by the mention of the FTP password and log.

still if i was him i would use a diff username to prevent such a guess from being correct. but this being a game leaves that with being the highest possibility

I agree with Ambient, we're being asked to find the password. Could someone post the ftp login page because I have no idea how to find that?

still finding the pw is obviously the next thing to do. we might need to get a clue first though. although i do think S/O mad it pretty obvious that it was hidden within what cerebus told us. note: finding the pw isnt hacking so thats the only way to get access to his ftp. unless we could do some sort of file transfer without pw needed. OR MAYBE hell lower the pw login for his clan members to get it and thats the transaction that we have to intercept.
