WHEN he woke up this morning, Brendan Cole asked the nurses to pinch him. He could hardly believe he was alive.

On Friday night, Mr Cole, 32, was disembowelled, the organs removed from his abdomen. He woke up after what doctors say is Australia's first intestine transplant, a 12-hour operation at Austin Health.

He had better treat that woman well. She has endured quite a bit of hardship to stand by his side. You could not ask for a better mate than that.

Far, far too many people do not see what love and devotion can bring to your life, the rewards is carries. That is a shame. Without my beautiful wife of 15 years, I am unsure I would be even 1/4 the man I am now. We truly are meant to find others to make us better.

Are you serious? It is 2010 and Austrailians had to leave the country to get transplants, and you take a hit at Obamacare?
